I kinda suck now
Having to re-learn alot sucks but I'm finally enjoying painting again

Painted my Canoness Veridyan for a stand in for Necromunda, I decided on painting her like the Raptor chapter.
It was incredibly fun to paint caution stripes with a gradient on, it helped quite a bit to get a little more comfortable mixing colors on the fly.

So this is my army's progress as of rn. Not shown are an extra unbuilt Novitiate squad (need to swap Killteam roles eventually), and 3 old metal sisters I need to base. Included are my vintage repressor, dialogus, and cherub. On the right are Novitiates with chainswords proxied as Repentia (hate the gymshorts), and in the back are some Seraphim and Zephyrim on custom sculpted Greco-Roman Pillar flightstands. Also shown is my Repressor, which is my current project alongside my Junith kitbash. Feel free to request any closeups and I'll post em, was hard to get focus on the whole batch. Bit above 1k points

Behold, the new Sisters Repentia!
It's amazing how a few changes make a huge different in tone and the story the design tells - swapping out the bondage gear for the the kind of underwear you'd expect of a gym enthusiast and showcasing their scars, their power armor plugs, the prosthetics they've acquired from their careers in brutal battle, etc.
Important thing to address though - while diversity is good, and Warhammer 40,000 is long, long overdue it... please for the love of the Emperorsomething Games Workshop - just once consider the optics of using a whip wielding leader driving one of the few units with highly visible brown people in them. Please.
Now, to be fair... they have also presented one Canoness is black and beautiful, in kickass power armor:

However the only other obvious example on their store page is the other penal/flagellant troops, the Arco-flagellants...
This is why, whenever you create anything even with the best of intentions - you need to be aware that you can accidentally recreate undesirable tropes and messages, and generally good to check (ideally through external consultants with relevant life experiences and backgrounds) before you green light it.

Sisters of Battle - Canoness

Kestra, my living Saint / cannoness. She wields the Annunciation of the Creed - a rare condemner boltgun and Relic of the Ebon Chalice.
I put a lot of work into building her! I had to build her shoulder armour from spares, and give her a brand new leg (the model comes with a robot/prosthetic leg, but I have 3 of the model and wanted it to be different!). The wings are purely an aesthetic choice, but they set her apart from her sisters. She's also one of the few models where I have dared to paint her eyes! 🪽
