The pirates are protective af but only with certain people mainly each other( until recently;see coming to auradon) cuz when you have no adults to depend on you can only depend on each other (also explains their fierce loyalty) they will make sure no one messes with one of their own
Oh hell yeah. Honestly canon. I mean, you don’t jump into a musical number because your boss is in a bad mood unless you have like... a really great work environment. The core four are shown again again to be family, and I 1000% believe the crew is, too. Growing up the Isle is dangerous enough, growing up raised and surrounded by pirates? We literally don’t see characters even carrying weapons, let alone using them, until Harry walks on screen for the first time. These kids know they have to look out for themselves. Maybe it’s partially a tactically decision (safety in numbers and all that) but also... you grow up with people, you live and fight and survive with them, you’re gonna become something more than a crew, more than a team, hell, maybe more than a family. Whatever they are, they’re ride or die to the end.
