Its basically a modern day greek mythology story, its very fun and i cant believe tumblr hasn’t jumped on it

Second thing, I fucking clocked Caneus on his first appearance. He gets killed by a group of women and they say something along the lines of "you betrayed your origins" (and his mum is also there) I knew, or at least I hoped I was seeing the right signs. I didn't even remember his myth! And I'm actually reading the Argonautica right now, where he and his son (who's and Argonaut) are namedropped in the first pages and the footnotes contain a very short description of his myth, but I blame the translation of the names being different.

Caenicenses: despite being mentioned both by Pliny and Ptolemy, some uncertainty remained about precisely where they lived until relatively recently, with Ptolemy linking their name to the River Caneus.
