elaborating more on the chapter name i posted for camr earlier i think it just felt right that "woman with heavily one-sided dating past and is prone to assuming worst case" and "man who has never dated and thus stinks at expressing his romantic feelings in a normal way" would probably not have the greatest start to a relationship. this is why they experience divorce arc
the undivorce arc, however. i think it is a good way for both cro and memb.rane to acknowledge what they could have done better and actually talking like adults. granted, it took di.b and ga.z drilling memb.rane over fumbling the bag (they really liked having cro around) for anything to happen because cro was still in mega-isolation mode. but it was still neat to let them have a chance to try and work through their major humps. memb.rane doesn't really ever get in touch with his emotions that much, and cro loves to jump to conclusions unintentionally, so they finally get to talk about it together and try to take things slower since it probably didn't help how fast cro was getting integrated into the family (it was kind of overwhelming for her in hindsight)
they agree to talk to each other about their thoughts more openly, and to make sure they don't keep secrets from each other. everything has to be on the table, no matter how bizarre or complicated it might be to work through
... so, uh, funny story about a big secret memb.rane's been hiding! his name is clemb.rane and he just returned from the moon lab
very excited to get to this chapter in my iz selfship fic (said with malicious intent) (i love drama and unnecessary suffering)
quick 1am doodle for a potential au for my iz selfshipverse (including a concept of what evil cro mcgovern might look like)
basically, this is a timeline where cro pursues her engineering degree after all (instead of giving up and switching to math) and ends up hired by membrane labs. she works her way up the ranks and finds herself as membrane's right hand man and eventual marriage partner
however, one freak accident at the lab managed to spiral the two of them into an incredibly nasty divorce that leaves them not even close to amicable. cro ends up starting her own rival company - mz enterprises - after a certain irken crash-lands onto the planet and agrees to team up with her
in regards to zim's nefarious intentions? cro allows it, so long as it allows her to one-up whatever membrane is doing (also she made a fake pak for herself bc she was jealous of zim's crawly legs)
i wanted an evil au for a silly oneshot idea i had where dib and gaz go back in time and convince a younger cro to try and help her with her old career path bc she mentions having regrets dropping out of her old program, but in doing so accidentally cause the butterfly effect that leads to cro trying to take over the world, so now they gotta go back AGAIN and sabotage their stepmom's degree efforts in order to return to their happy family once more
