It’s funny looking back on the evolution of Backseat Ballads and especially this account when I had grandiose aspirations for what I wanted to do. Besides the blog plus website (which may never come to fruition but I have faith that won’t be the case), I also aspired for us to be a lo-fi, relatable source of information whether it comes to hikes, cafes to visit or spots to camp at. Ultimately I realised with our posts we would rarely post about the technical aspects as in the end it was more about our thoughts and feelings when looking back. Camping for us will no doubt evolve as we get older and although it won’t be a frequent venture like it has been in the past (we were camping nearly every month in 2016), I know it’ll be an exciting yet challenging prospect now that kids will be involved as well.
