Hi! So I had some ideas for the Prog Pirates au, really just a funny mental image I've had for some time involving Mike Rutherford as a pirate. I might draw a picture of this idea, I just wanted to check with you about where Genesis fits into the whole story so that I don't mess up the existing au. Thanks! :)
Please do! Anything goes but I’ll just give an overview of what i’ve written for them. whatever you write can be before or after this. Genesis as involved in the story so far is a pirate ship named The Lamb turned failing merchant vessel after getting arrested by the King’s privateers, The Crimson Tide. After losing most of their cargo in a storm, Peter, secretly planning mutiny, suggests in a last chance bar none crazy get rich quick sceme to kidnap the Crimson King and hold him for ransom, to Emerson, Lake, and Palmer and mostly Lake. Peter, while the others snatch Frippachino, joins the Tide and waits a a bit before divulging their intended location as to provide a false sense of security and success. Meanwhile Phil and Mike torment Fripp with silly games, until the Tide catches up and attacks their ship. Steve, who wanted no part of this in the first place, takes the only life boat (captain banks replaced them all with keyboards, he needed somewhere to put them), and rows away avoiding combat. Betrayed by Peter, Tony forfeits in battle... only after the three of them get their asses handed over and their ship is captured. The remaining crew are left to drift in the ocean instead of getting thrown back in pirate jail until a passing ship (Supertramp) offers them a ride back to land, where they start anew. I forget why they originally got thrown in pirate jail- that’s up to you I guess.
