When your boss tells you a resident does qualify to live in level 1 assisted living because they can walk.
But they used finger nail polish as lip stick and some how found a way to cut they're there toe nails so bad there's blood on the floor.
And they can't get out of the building on their own???
But yes they can walk and they'll usually follow you. Like ugh wtf?!?!

don't forget your PCTs
It's good practice to help each other out on the floor. I was "warned" by my preceptor that some nurses don't give report to their PCTs, and that's when problems happen. PCTs (patient care technicians, aka CNAs, or nurse aides) end up winging it and don't get the pertinent background info from the nurses.
Perfect example today- I poked my head into a patient's room as I walked by, her call light was on. A PCT (not assigned to that patient either) was already in there beginning to reposition her, and thankfully I had that patient last week to remember she couldn't lay on her right side. Maybe not a big deal in the long run, but that should have been communicated from RN to PCT. The patient could have really gotten hurt.
Lesson of the day: don't just give the next shift's nurses report, give your PCT's report!
