Here’s a proper look at my new wild boi, Lowell, courtesy of @calico807. I’m doing the coloring for the artwork and, by in large, I’m happy with skin tone, patterns, hair color and eye color. And her work on this one in general was freakin’ awesome. She took some liberties to give him some distinction to really sell the “wild lad” look and I loved ‘em so much, I decided to implement them in his design.
Question now is, which version do y’all prefer? The full wild look or the one with pants? :P
Not gonna lie, I really love the way Cadmus’ design has evolved over the years, largely because @calico807 has continued to do really excellent work every single time I’ve commissioned her.
The original green tanktop look was back when I originally made some random kink character who also happened to be a bad boy, hence his piercings. And his ability to shift into his Saurian form was so he could do same size vore if the situation called for it. There wasn’t as much thought put into the look beyond I wanted some bad guy who didn’t care one way or the other, so long as he got paid. But once I realized he was a much larger villain in my series than I originally planned, I start re-evaluating a few things and quickly realized that his duds felt too generic. Plus, I wanted Cadmus to have more style to him, so I swapped a few things out. I liked the pants and the hairstyle / piercings, but decided to show off his muscles a little bit more with a tighter shirt, longer boots to give him sort of a “swashbuckling” vibe, and a leather jacket because style.
And his combat gear keeps a lot of what I like about the leather bad boy look, but also reinforces that he’s an assassin and not to be taken lightly. I didn’t realize until after I colored him in that some might think he resembles Bane from Dark Knight Rises, but hey, that was my favorite of the Nolan Trilogy, so I’m okay with that. ‘XD
It’s also a nice contrast to his younger days within the Saurian Brotherhood. One looks more “official” and clean, very organized and simple, while the other has more of a makeshift feel to it, and looks decidedly deadlier. Which isn’t lost when his gear is torn up in his final fight and he’s just itching for more blood, even if a lot of it is his.
I’m thinking I might actually revamp his Saurian look too for a number of reasons. Primarily because Cadmus makes it a point to NOT shift into his Saurian form, and when I get to writing his chapters in HISS, I don’t see him shifting more than once or twice throughout his entire stint as “dragon-tier villain.” And as such, I want his Saurian look to feel a little more dangerous. And because I’m kinda “shrinking” the Saurians so their doesn’t get all torn up when they shift, he’ll still be in his combat duds. I’m gonna do a lot of sketch-ups on that look before I decide on one and make it official with a commission.
This is part of why I adore writing. Characters can always go on paths you never expected they would, and thinking up designs that fit is just part f the fun. :P
I’ve been kicking around a few ideas for Cadmus’ “Saurian Form” for a while now. I know that I gradually ended up not digging the old look I came up for him because it just felt too ‘basic’. And given how Cadmus almost never changes form for story reasons, I thought he needed to look a lot more intimidating in his Saurian form than the original “scaly lizard lad” look I came up with.
So the image on the left is the new concept I’m working with that I’m SLIGHTLY happier with but still not 100% on. It’s his face that I’m not digging now. I know I wanted it to be more humanoid, but now, he doesn’t look reptilian enough, and the details and definition I accidentally drew all over his face makes him look a lot older than he is. I think it’s a combination of his nose, the eyes and the lining. I’m gonna keep playing around with the look until I have something I actually like, but this is more in line with what I’m going for, body wise. He looks more visibly intimidating, and the alteration looks more severe.
I just need to fix the face, but it’s on the right track!
I recently got a commission from @calico807 for additional character posers and got myself, among others, two additional reference shots of Cadmus. The first being his younger, Saurian self; the assassin known as Mamoru, back before things went horribly, horribly wrong.
Mamoru dresses largely the same as Hakari, only he’s a higher ranking member of his clan. He’s got sleeves, a little more armor on his arms, and still carries his trademark hunting knife on his right thigh. He also hasn’t had any procedures done to mask his Saurian roots, so his eyes are still inverted like Hakari’s, and his Saurian scales are still very visible. He’s around twenty one or so in this poser, but already a very established and experienced assassin of high regard within his clan.
The other is Cadmus’ combat gear. I decided, much like the villains of MHA, it would make sense for a mercenary like Cadmus to have proper attire for missions he takes a little more seriously. The mask intentionally doesn’t match his gear because it’s more a souvenir than anything else. Something he wears not for functionalities sake, but almost out of spite.
And of course, that inspired me to post up the other two looks for this snake-y bastard, his primary leather jacket attire, and his transformed Saurian form.

John Bio Card
I finally got back to actually making bio cards for the characters in HISS, starting with one of the main supporting characters yet to be introduced, John:
You can find his full bio here:

Artwork by @calico807
Coloring by me.
Here are all five of the latest posers I commissioned from @calico807 which mostly covers every major character in my “HISS” series minus one. The artwork is by Calico and the coloring for each character was done by me.
From left to right, on the top row, we have Mamoru and his older, more wicked self, Cadmus, now in combat gear, both of whom I covered yesterday.
And on the bottom, from left to right, we have the Crimson Ronin, a ruthless sword-wielding soldier whose combat suit enhances his strength, speed and renders him an emotionless killing machine.
Then, we have Mirage, an illusionist who carries out ‘Seven’s’ will only out of necessity. She’s hardwired to the experimental suit grafted to her body, which allows her to project holographic imagery of her design that can stretch for hundreds of feet. It can perfectly map out the imagery to look completely real, and her suit allows her to replicate voices so she can even project fake voices. She’s an expert in deceiving people with her false worlds, but none are deceived more than her as she lives in perpetual fantasies of her own design, unwilling or mentally incapable of looking at the ugly realities around her
And finally, we have Omen, one of Seven’s most dangerous minions. He’s an augmented ex-data analyst for Phoenix. A genius with computers whose brain has been fitted with neural augmentations that allows him to process data as quickly as the fastest super computers. That’s courtesy of six optic cables connected to his spine which he controls at will to hack into any device he wishes. The dangerous part is that Omen doesn’t only hack computers. His cables can adapt and connect to almost any piece of machinery. From automated turret guns, attack drones, even exo-suits. Omen can literally turn soldiers combat armor against one another or use their own security devices against them. He’s also very close to Mirage; the only one who can breach her dream worlds and bring her back to reality, if only for a moment.
I’m gonna re-design Koloss as well, to give his duds a little less of a generic look to ‘em, but as it stands, here is almost the full rogues gallery to my series (still got a few to include, such as ‘The Last Ronin’). Still, it’s kinda cool seeing the whole set in one post now that I’ve got posers for the lot of ‘em. This must be what action figure collectors feel like. ‘XD
Once more, HUGE shoutout to @calico807 for coming up with all these awesome looks over the past several months of commissions and giving me the files to experiment and color each one myself. :P
