On March 7th, voters across Los Angeles County will have the opportunity to take a major step in ending the current L.A. County homelessness crisis by voting on County Measure H, the Los Angeles County Plan to Prevent and Combat Homelessness. The issue of homelessness is complex, and so are the solutions. By combining funding for affordable housing, support services and homelessness prevention, Measure H seeks to tackle the issue on all fronts and make a huge and lasting impact on homelessness in L.A.

What is Measure H? Measure H will use permanent supportive housing to end homelessness for 45,000 families and individuals across Los Angeles County within five years. It will also prevent homelessness for 30,000 individuals and families over the same time period, including women and children, veterans, seniors, foster youth, and survivors of domestic violence. What is permanent supportive housing? Permanent supportive housing combines long-term, affordable housing with on-site supportive services such as job training, case management and physical and mental health care. The approach is proven to help chronically homeless individuals stay housed and bring down their costs to taxpayers by up to 75%. Measure H adds a special ¼ cent sales tax to fund solutions that have been proven to prevent and end homelessness. More than just housing, Measure H also funds a wide range of services that improve the lives and futures of homeless Angelenos. How much will it cost? The average L.A. County consumer will pay just over $1/month. How much will it generate? Measure H will generate approximately $355 million per year. These funds can only be used for affordable housing and homelessness prevention and support services.

As you guys might notice, my gofundme page is gone, this is because I did it, no we did it. 

My old job fired me in mutual agreement cuz of crap going on and just them treating me badly, me not being able to keep working there for health reasons and me having enough to sue made them give me a pretty nice payoff. 

That ontop of all the money the commissions my friends did gathered as well as the people who donated cuz they wanted to help had covered a huge chunk of it already and has kept me fed and alive for the past 4 months.

For that I am beyond grateful and I feel so blessed to know that people have been standing behind me here, when people in real life did not. 

Tomorrow I will be able to pay my very last bill, for the first time in my life I will be free of debt and it’s all thanks to you guys.
