I have a single Falkenrath Gorger on my side and a heir of falkenrath in my hand. My opponent cast kolaghan's command dealing 2 damage to Gorger and making me discard. Can I play the Heir of falkenrath with madness before the Gorger dies?
Not quite, but you still get to cast it for its madness cost granted by Falkenrath Gorger.
Falkenrath Gorger hasnβt taken any damage when you discard Heir of Falkenrath, so it will be discarded to exile due to its madness ability. And that ability will trigger. Falkenrath Gorger will be dead by the time you put the Madness trigger on the stack, but at that point it doesnβt matter anymore. Youβll be able to pay the madness cost when the triggered ability resolves anyway.
