KPBS hosted a debate Tuesday night for the top contenders in the U.S. Senate race. Some highlights:
Front-runner Kamala Harris deflected questions about San Onofre.Â
Duf Sundheim repeatedly went after her.Â
Tom Del Beccaro said it's time for the U.S. to give up on immigration reform.Â
Loretta Sanchez debated in what one political scientist compares to Ted Cruz’s Shakespearean style.Â
Ron Unz boasted about his training as a physicist before saying he’s not “persuaded that the evidence is there” for climate change.Â
You can watch the debate here.Â

Meet Brett and Guille. They'll be sharing a vote this election season. Read more about the project here:Â http://kpbs.us/1oGux5Z
Local elections don't generate a lot of attention, but the results have major effects on our lives. Our latest election story explores why almost nobody cares about local races.
California is getting more diverse but it’s still older, whiter and wealthier voters who turn out on Election Day.Â
This year we’re partnering with reporters at KQED, Capital Public Radio and KPBS to explore what issues and candidates people are talking about. What’s driving you to the polls? What’s keeping you away?Â
As part of our California Counts election collaboration, KQED’s Steven Cuevas introduces some of the communities we’ll be visiting. This includes Samuel Price of Watts: “The political process to me is all a big game. To me it’s all corrupt, it’s all about money.”Â
Do you agree? Listen to the full story here.Â
