My little project tonight was getting the kraut cutter cleaned up that Jenis' Grandpa gave us. LAST PIC is of it "cleaned up" -->> SWIPE! Nothing serious. Lightly sanded some rust off. Washed it all real good with hot water and dab of soap. Rinsed very well. Let dry I front of fan. Then, wiped the metal food surfaces down with a very very light coat of vegetable oil ... Almost non existant. Not sure if any of this was the right thing to do ... So please correct me if wrong. This thing is super cool! (Although ... While cleaning a blade I did cut my finger lol). I can't wait to shred some.cabbage or other stuff. I ran a cucumber through it earlier and it ate that cuc right up! Working on cleaning you this antique krait cutter tonight that Jenis' Grandpa gave us. Nothing crazy. Some light sanding on the metal to get rust off. Then gonna wash real good with some really hot water with just a pinch of soap maybe. I am so excited about this thing lol. It is in great shape! I ran a cucumber through it earlier (before cleaning it) and it devoured that cuc! Oh yeah ....
