chaeyoung wasn’t born into fame exactly. well, she kind of was, but her parents weren’t a-listers. she was born into people vaguely knowing about her, with both of her parents being actors (but not very good ones).

they used their positions and connections, though, and by the time chaeyoung was two, she was already acting in commercials and videos and ads. movies and dramas. every year was more contracts, until chaeyoung’s fame was greater than both of her parents’ combined. 

and she did that for a while, and liked it. it was cool getting to go to school and tell everyone about bein on set with their favorite star. she got to see shows with her in them. after school, she got to be made up and dressed up, and just play pretend.

that wore off quickly, though. by the time she was thirteen, she was falling out of love with acting, and feeling rather burned out. and while her parents had introduced her to this world, the weren’t stage parents. they wanted her to be happy. so the moment she felt done, she was done.

she couldn’t go back to school in korea, though. she was famous. the biggest part that was weighing on the girl (who was now going through puberty, mind you) was the fame. she didn’t want to be perceived. 

her dad had signed onto a movie that was filming in vietnam, so she moved with him. her parents used the money she’d made to hire tutors to teach her abroad. and by the time she graduated, she could go back home to seoul and be relatively unnoticed. and even if people recognized her, she was eighteen now. she was more comfortable in herself. it was okay.

she’s not sure who reached out first-- new age, or her parents. but somewhere along the line, they got in contact, and chaeyoung was made aware that new age wanted her. they wanted to take her and make her an idol. and though she still had her reservations, it sounded fun. she wanted to give it a go.

she trained for two years before being added to byulbit auriga. she likes being in such a big group-- it means that she isn’t the star. believe it or not, there are byulbit members more famous than her. she can just be kind of regular, but with a cool job again.

Xu Xiaohui was born on august 22nd on a hot summer day while her mother was visting her grandparents. While she wasn’t due until the first week of september her family decided from there they would hunker down and live with her grandparents and so the little girl was born in raised in Ghuizhou, China. Her parents always said she danced, whether that be kicking her tiny legs as an infant or squatting to music as a toddler, they enrolled her into ballet as a child and slowly let her evolve and bleed into different dancing styles as she wanted to; Contemporary, hip hop, ballroom; tango. Etc you name it, she’s most likely tried it. Eventually joining a small dance team where they would cover both old and new kpop songs a like, choreograph some of the more upbeat chinese songs they found and make dances for various western songs as well. Her parents, though slightly disappointed she didn’t choose something else for her career where happy that she might get a job in something they had always recognized her passion in.

But when they brought up becoming an idol, Xiaohui was honestly a bit dumbfounded. She had always saw herself as more of a behind the scenes sort of person and didn’t want the idolization that came with the job. For her dancing and music was much more of an interpersonal thing, an exchange of a language with no words and while making that was fun, the people who would pretend to know and understand her was something that scared her. But since her parents had already created a small company with her and her cousin signed to it, there was no backing out now. For a few months, things went on. She took some moddelling pictures, opened up an instagram and updated pretty regulalry, she created her weibo and douyin but all she really had to do was post and reply to 1 or two comments and leave it at that. Her cousin, insistent on being on idol wanted to go on Young With You, a survival show much simillar to Idol Project and instead asked for both of them to come in. Once again, Xiao was pushed into the lime light.

sumitra is no stranger to the spotlight. she made her official debut when she was two years old in a cereal commercial, and has been a child star ever since. maybe she’s not the biggest name in thailand, but she’s definitely up there. people definitely know who she is.

which is why it’s so weird to see her leave.

she spent most of her childhood acting, and when she was eleven, decided she wanted to be a singer, and started practicing for that instead. when she was fourteen, she debuted as a member of the thai group daizee, and that’s where most of her fame came from-- she was very recognizable, and incredibly charismatic. people loved her. she was thailand’s sweetheart. 

and she loved it, but as she got older, the more she got bored. she had such an exciting life, but it was the same. she’d been surrounded by the same faces since she was a baby. 

the first time she saw a reign music video, she was hooked-- new reign, not old reign (though upon going back and rewatching, she loves them too). they were so much bolder and brighter and cooler than daizee was. the music sounded more dynamic. and the dancing was so much better too. not to mention, center stage, there was matika, another thai girl who sumitra could connect with. she knew that’s where she wanted to go next.
