I'm reserving my thoughts until the season ends but
1. The tale is being told in retrospect
2. We've already seen Lestat manipulate and expunge parts of the narrative he shares with Daniel
3. [spoilers] it's obvious that the showdown with Akasha has already happened and if you're a book reader you know how deeply deeply traumatic the experience was for Lestat. (If you think the experience with Magnus was harrowing π¬ well...) There are inklings of its effect all over tvl i.e. the killing of the marquis + co., Lestat's "I have the blood of Akasha in me" bit, the great conversion (frens I don't think that's Gabrielle π€)
So far I'm really enjoying it because it's really making me think about what's true and what isn't. There are massive holes and inaccuracies. I'm not taking anything seriously.
People comparing it to the last two seasons haven't learnt the lessons from it at all.
(also it hasn't finished yet please ppl let it cook dayum!)
(a lot of you are going to end up with egg on your faces)
