Yo yo yo, hope you're having a swell day, Dummy! I'm happy to report that I've been more active on Die of Death as of recently, mostly because it's starting to grow on me! Even with the janky-ahh hitboxes, I've learned a way around that issue, and I can enjoy playing both as the survivor and killer. Although, as a side-note, I'm still annoyed whenever people emote on me after I lose on my killer round-
As of late, however, I couldn't help but notice that the killer's hitboxes (noticeably with the M1's) seem to have gotten worse, even when my ping is around 25-30. And when I say worse, it's "There's literally zero studs between me and a survivor during a chase, but I still cannot hit them with my M1, so I have to be in front of the survivor to hit them" worse! At first, I thought I was losing my mind, but then I've stumbled across a YouTube short that talks about the worse hitboxes, which means I wasn't imagining things. Said-video also shows a message from Saucefy regarding the hitbox changes, and word-for-word, he said, "Also I decreased the hotbox velocity compensation for those who were complaining about it, if you don't like it as is either maybe they weren't so bad afterall".
Now, I don't know if the message is 100% legitimate, as I'm not in the official DoD Discord server, but if it is, then I'm a bit discouraged to play Die of Death. Even when my personal beef with DoD's bad hitboxes isn't taken into account, the wording of Saucefy's message make it sound like he's being petty/immature about the hitbox criticisms, which rubs me the wrong way. I still plan to play Die of Death, but I now have some doubts if DoD's development team plans to actually address the hitbox criticisms if the owner of the game is behaving like this. I'd like to know your thoughts on this matter, since you are a fellow Die of Death fan!
Yeah that Discord message is 100% real, I saw it myself and was a bit disheartened and disappointed at how- ehh, yeah, immature it was. I know coding is hard, especially when you have a huge audience breathing down your neck telling you to to fix things ASAP. But I don't think that's a good excuse to turn around and make your game undeniably worse all for the sake of "Told you so." I love Die of Death, but if this is how SOME of the criticism is taken (especially something as crucial as hit-boxes) then I'm definitely a bit concerned for the future of the game. The DOD dev team has been working on hot-fixes, NON. STOP. seemingly since the update came out. And I would assume the hit-boxes are apart of these hot-fixes given its been such a big complaint day 1.
So as of now I think the dev team should take a small break.
(Also im pretty sure the main dev team just consists of Saucefy and DZ, so that just strengthens my suggestion for a break.)
This whole hit-box fiasco can be dealt with in a later update. What matters most is that the devs of the game are ok and in a sound state to keep going and make reasonable decisions for the future. Cuz bro, pulling a "not so bad now is it huh?" is a terrible move. THAT IS NOT THE PLAY. THAT IS NOT IT BROTHA.
