Howdy hey, Dummy! It's been a while since I last interacted with you/your posts, and I hope things have been going well for you!
Considering Die of Death has dropped the long-awaited "Fashionably Late" update a couple of days ago, what are your initial thoughts on it? Are there any features from this update that you personally love/hate?
I've been trying to get into DoD when the Fashionably Late update released, and I think I can say with confidence that it's a definitive upgrade from what came before! Although, and I dunno if it's just me, but the hitboxes feel a bit more worse than they did before the update, especially when I'm experiencing lag. To be honest, even with the update, I cannot truly appreciate Die of Death because of how bad the hitboxes are, and I'm unable to play it with friends as much as I would love to, so I don’t think I'll be playing it frequently, unlike with something like PWNed By 14:00-
My initial thoughts are mostly positive!
I like the new lobby, npcs, music, gameplay, basically I like everything about the new update!
Except for a few things of course…
First of all, the hit-boxes ARE 100000% WORSE. From what info my friends have shown me, it’s because its velocity based hit-boxes now instead of whatever previous versions they had. Meaning that if you move forwards your hit-box will be in front of you, move backwards your hit-box will be behind you, side to side etc etc. So there are a lot of times with killer, and even survivor abilities just WONT WORK because of these new hit-box’s.
And although I like most of the maps… New Temple. Do not. Get me started. ON THAT MAP. That hate that I hold for New Temple can’t even be compared to 14 gamma ray bursts going off at the same time. It’s a lovely looking map, and I like how the boulder npcs react to the Drako Boulder destroying a chunk of the map, BUT THATS IT. THATS all of the redeeming qualities I can give it within reason.
Oh and I’m very sad orchestraful is technically gone. They just burned him alive and replaced em with showstopper. Which is fine, showstopper is still wicked cool, I just like orchestraful’s design better.
I know this sounds mostly negative, but keep in mind I love everything else about the update :)

I feel asleep at 5am because I was so excited for the DoD updated, then proceeded to wake up 2 hours before it came out.
Very much worth waiting a year it's so fun

There are some things I don’t like, but I’d like to start off with the things I do like!
First off, THE MODELING FOR THE LOBBY/MAPS WENT INSANOSTYLE! The new lobby is so lively and filled with so many little easter eggs that I genuinely spent the first 30min of the release just running around and exploring the lobby.
I love the new NPC’s and I like how some even have their own lore (Like Esterflower).
Not to mention the new mini games you can play in the lobby to pass time.
The revamped maps have so much detail that it really makes the world looked lived in compared to the previous versions of the map!
The new renders for the killers are nice, the customization of your civilian is an unexpected but awesome add on, the addition of new/old emotes is cool, and the rework/revamp of killers (ESPECIALLY BADWARE) is sick!
ALSO, not a lot of games do this, but the absolute fact that you can buy VIP and extra emote slots with in game currency if you don’t want/cant use robux. THAT. IS SERIOUSLY SO RADTACULAR.

Now for some things I don’t like!
This is a minor gripe of mine, but I don’t like Showstopper (the replacement for Orchestraful) all that much. I like the overall look of Orchestraful more, and I already somewhat miss the skin knowing it’s gone. BUT I still think Showstopper is really cool regardless, I like his little animals.
Next is the maps. The new maps are beautiful visually don’t get me wrong! But I feel with all of the little details and visuals going on it’s pretty hard for me to concentrate. Especially because some maps are smaller/more crowded than others.
But despite some maps being so small/crowded, there are SO. MANY. DIFFERENT WAYS TO GO! Which from the outside doesn’t sound too bad, but… As an Artful main… that's pretty bad >:(

Don’t take my opinions too seriously, I only have around 6 hours of playtime for the new update. So I definitely think my thoughts are subject to change.
Anyhow, this update is seriously impressive! And I can see the amount of effort and passion put into it, im so glad that even after 7 months a HUGE amount of people still want to play the game.
That’s about it! Have fun dying of death and remember to drink water ^_^
