so few months ago i was wondering how do you get to the rose estate from central krat since the path we went through in overture are considered private property (owned by the alchemists) and not used by the public (presumably). me and @shibepetter kinda losing our mind on how the map of krat in the base game doesnt really make sense with how it all loops back to hotel krat until shiba found this map by u/MoodyMoose2317 on reddit

and then few days ago someone commented on shibe's post with this map (i think it got removed? i cant find it again to link it here so i went digging around in the lop discord to find the original sauce)

(its apparently a part of the official merch?)

anyway. the original comment was talking about the location of the rose estate being on the left of the cathedral and it got me thinking "huh...that doesnt make sense" so i went digging around and compare both maps

disclaimer: i know the fanmade map isnt to scale but it is a good reference!

and it still doesnt make sense!!! how is malum not connected in the official map? where is malum in the map?

hence, this monstrosity was born. this existing makes me feel like the stop doing maths meme

anyway, we know that malum district is connected to the hotel via the elevator in the town hall and you can actually see the hotel before the BRB's arena:

so thats out of the way...we still try to make the map make sense

comparing to the official map it still doesnt make sense!! and then i realized that i have free will so i ended up going on a pilgrimage and went from st frangelico's elevator down to the path of the pilgrim all the way to malum district to understand how this place really works.

aaaand turns out path of pilgrim is behind st frangelico cathedral!

so path of pilgrim is at the correct spot in my scribbled map but the bridge mystery still continues, wtf is that bridge then???

its not elysion bridge bc we are heading east towards the alchemist bridge

(alchemist bridge fits the one in the map so theres that)

so i went on a pilgrimage....again, but now im using the elevator next to the stargazer

it kinda makes sense now...in a way...

now moving on

arche abbey and the sun

from this, we can deduce that arche abbey is on an isle west of krat considering that the last time change we had in the relic of trismegistus after the BRB fight is cloudy evening before transitioning to time unknown once you reached black seaside, so the sun we're facing at the top of the arche abbey is most likely the morning sun, we are facing east.

but then we got another problem.....this dang compass....

it should be looking like this instead?

i've tried a couple of vantage points (st frangelico bridge/moonlight town tram/grand exhibition) to see wheres the true north is based on the position of the sun but all of them kinda leads to this. its probably not that important but this leads to the big question: where is the rose estate then....

lea is facing towards the east

and from the lighthouse, we could see the rose estate, so we are facing west

rose estate is located southwest of central krat (big question mark)

this is just a speculation tho! i find it really interesting to put everything into perspective...

now..how do people go to the rose estate? looking at the official map again, theres only water on the southwest part.

train tracks to further south (probably to st marien and dacia)

we didnt see any train tracks to the rose estate other than the underground tram (which is probably only being used by the alchemists to reach zelator). is it open to the public? not likely. do the public used the mines? probably not. its too dangerous and the very important forbidden alchemist site™ is there.

so we go back to the start of it all......water transportation....

shiba mentioned about sophia having to meet simon at the harbor so.....

i guess we can assume that the whole krat lighthouse/rose estate area only accessible through water transportation to the public.

(we dont question where the ship harbor is at central krat tho. nope not gonna think about it)
