Pushing my thropple agenda where no one is happy except Fox (but that's pushing it really).

Because Fox is the kind of playboy to have two boyfriends at once.

The way I could go on and on about Rabbit putting himself in danger for the sillies being a testament to his craving for adrenaline as well as a lack of consideration for his own life is insane (at first, I thought passive suicidality, but that might be too far). So I do think Rabbit is stupid enough to get in a relationship (a better term might be an 'arrangement') with Fox. Or maybe it really is a calculated move, where he knows the risks and goes for it anyway.

Fox would probably treat the arrangement like one of his big plans at first, but then scream in horror when he realises he's growing a soft spot for Rabbit (so really, the same pipeline he suffered in with Wolf. Except a little less severe since Wolf is a predator).

Meanwhile Rabbit came to terms with it ages ago and isn't shocked when Fox suddenly breaks up with him and becomes hyper-avoidant after being so clingy since the arrangement began. Don't worry they get back together, Fox just had to fist fight his hallucinations of his mother that are channeling his insecurities about being affectionate to prey much less anybody at all without trying to gain something from it.

And Wolf? A little confused but he's got the spirit. Maybe a little jealous until Rabbit assures him that his relationship with Fox is less like cutesy dating and really just intense psychological warfare that has demolished the boundary of "just enemies", with a side dish of the occasional angry make out. He's very aware of whatever is going on between those two, Fox updates him sporadically.

Anyways, Fox would invite Wolf and Rabbit to dinner at his place sometime and Rabbit will ask "am I on the menu" and Fox would reply "scandalous- ask again after dinner and we'll see if there's room for desert" and Rabbit still won't know if he's going to die or not. But he's going to go to dinner anyway because that's just the kind of rabbit he is.

I'm sure Rabbit's eye bags give Fox a heart attack every time he sees them, so Fox has been trying (and failing) to get Rabbit on some kind of skincare routine. He's even stopped trying to catch him at night because you can't beat beauty sleep for getting rid of those sacks.

If Rabbit ever stays over at Fox or Wolf's place, Fox and Wolf are sharing the bed while Rabbit is sleeping on the couch. If he asks nicely, he could sleep in the cuck chair next to them (it's probably fancy and extends long enough so his feet can stretch). No he will not sleep on the bed. He would wake up to both Fox and Wolf's mouths cracked open and slobbering over his face and biting his skull because the very scent of him is triggering their hunting instincts and in their dreams they're very very hungry.

While waiting for Fox to get ready for dates, Wolf and Rabbit would play cards, betting how much longer it'll take. (Spoilers: it's always longer than they think. But they can't complain because Fox does somehow always manage to come out looking better than he usually does).

I'm pretty sure their relationship is like not quite friends but more like "hey I accidentally made Fox really pissed at me, can you calm him down, I'll buy you a cookie" "bet". So it's like they're in an alliance because their mutual enemy/lover is Fox (see because the one thing I want to see in the show is Rabbit and Wolf teaming up because there's a bigger threat in town and bonus points if said threat is Fox).

Those two have probably gone fishing once or twice and talked about life and their ex/late wives.

I'm sure Rabbit breaks the news to Lucy that he's involved with Fox like it's the worst thing in the world and Lucy is just like "Dad you had the hots for him when he dressed up as a nanny and he was uglier then, I'm not surprised."

Terrapin is surprised though. Faints and everything. And thinks Rabbit is mental. Rabbit doesn't deny that, since, well, it's Fox.

If you asked me who asked out who/who confessed first- Fox and Wolf were very much involved for a good long while. Officially? More like they never said anything but everyone knows. Fox was probably open to Wolf about his feelings towards Rabbit enough that Wolf could notice the changes (yes, even Wolf would notice) but Fox is convinced it's his brain "opening up an alternative method to catching Rabbit". Rabbit is in the middle of a crisis when Fox proposes "an arrangement". And then it kicks off from there.

As for it Fox and Wolf are still trying to capture and eat Rabbit during this development scuffle, yes. Yes they are.

I imagine this to be like a fairytale happily ever after for the Arrangement Series I'm writing, so all of the lore from there applies. Specifically Rabbit and Fox shading their hobby of textiles together.

AU is set during a point when both Rabbit and Fox have sort of just, slowly stopped chasing each other and, Fox has since put 'trying to eat Rabbit' in the back burner (his way of saying he gives up without saying he gives up).

Rabbit, at some point, is prompted to consider actually taking his sewing hobby a step further, and making it his job. Since like, he's unemployed, it doesn't hurt to try (and get some extra pocket money). He's also not as fit as he used to be, and can't really go around stealing people's cabbages as much as he used to.

And then in comes Fox, who is like- "Actually though, I could buy you a building in town and you can run a tailors shop." Rabbit (ignoring how Fox is literally just offered to fund a potential business and create power imbalance) in a shocking moment of modesty, would reply that he's genuinely not experienced enough to do that, and then of course Fox chips in, "Well you'll have me, won't you?"

Bada bing bada boom- the local tailors Fox and Rabbit (uncreative name) opens for business. The two of them absolutely fought over whose name came first, but Fox ultimately won because he reasoned 1. Alphabetical order. 2. He's literally buying the store and paying for everything to get the business up and running. And unfortunately for Rabbit, his only argument had been "okay but me want name first". Regardless, whenever Rabbit talks about the business though or answers the shop landline, he puts his name first out of spite.

I can imagne the only reason Fox offered to do this and work with Rabbit is because :

Bro wants to spend more time with Rabbit now that they no longer have their hunting thing going on (causal death threats and sometimes trying to follow through on it remains a thing- except both suffer the physical repressions through relentless back pain and muscle strains).

He is bored out of his mind in retirement, which he had been in for at least a decade (or even two) by this point.

They're both ammatures despite their years of combined experience. But both of them have egos so high they've convinced everyone that they're legit.

Rabbit needs reading glasses. He hates wearing them though because still the idea of getting old pains him more than his joint pain.

It takes a while, but the two of them do eventually pay off the cost it took to buy the space and resources needed to make the store. Once that happens, Rabbit ends up taking most of the profits (maybe a 70/30 split). Fox, if you had promoted him to start this business with Rabbit years ago, would have tricked Rabbit into taking those profits for himself. But bro probably went through some character development to realise "actually you know what, it might be a good idea if I actually just let Rabbit spend and use the money, and not just hoard it in my bank account to collect interest". Insane rocket science and mental acrobatics is what it took to get here.

Anyways- both of them have stereotypical tailors habits, like the pins in the mouth and tape around the shoulders. The pin thing actually peeves Fox so much he's tried countless methods to try and get Rabbit to stop lmao. Putting pin cushions or magnets everywhere so Rabbit can just put the pins down, making him strap pin cushions to his wrist but he keeps losing it somehow- none of it works. So he has strangled Rabbit with his tape measure in frustration but that didn't yield results either. He walks into the store everyday hoping Rabbit just swallows the pins one day and faces the consequences (unbeknownst to him, it actually HAS already happened, and Rabbit had coughed it out with minor injuries in the backroom without him knowing literally because Rabbit knew Fox wouldn't even help him and just yap about how he should take that incident as a lesson).

This au is literally just "In another life, I would have really liked just doing laundry and taxes with you."
