I'm having some really negative thoughts rn and I can't make it stop

I was having such a nice time with my mom earlier today at a Veterans Day parade until she decided to get some food, while I waited on the grass. I was on my phone and this man, about 35, walks up to me and mumbles in Spanish, shakes my hand and tries to kiss me. I moved fast enough to get away but he was trying to explain himself??? What I could understand from his mumbles was that he knew someone that looks like me (as if that was a reasonable excuse) and he still tries to ask me what school I go to. I’m so fucking upset that I didn’t make a bigger deal out if it but I was so shocked that he was trying to kiss me (a 17 year old girl and surrounded by families) I’m sure someone could’ve helped me out. I then told him to back off and I called my mom and she hurried back. She feels bad for leaving me “alone” but it’s not her fault and it kills me to know that she blames herself. I probably won’t feel any more comfortable around strangers than I did before.
