  دراسة موجزة عن نموذج مما دون في هذا القرن وهو موطأ الإمام مالك بن أنس:

  From the published books during this century is Almuwata’a by Imam Malik Bin Anas. This is a brief summary of his book.

  ·         Author:

  -          Abu Abdullah Malik Bin Anas al-Asba’i. Imam Dar al-Hijra [ The Imam of Madinah]. Imam al-Muslimeen [Imam of the muslims] of his time.

  ·        Why did he called his book “ The Muwata’a” ?

  1)    Because he made the hadeeth easy for the people. The word wata’a in Arabic meant to make something easy.

2)    Because of the approval of the scholars of his book. The word Muwata’at  also means to approve on something in the Arabic language.

  -         Imam Malik said: “ I brought forth my book to seventy scholars of the scholars of Madinah and they all approved of it so I named it Al-Muwata’a [ The Approved].”

      ·        What the book is about:

  The ahadeeth of the prophet (peace be upon him) and the sayings of the companions and the rulings of the followers [ Tabi’een].

  ·        The number of ahadeeth in Al-Muwata’a:

  853

  ·        The Rank of the ahadeeth in it:

Al-Imam al-Shafe’i said: “ The most accurate book after the Quran is Al-Muwata’a.”

  However, what Imam al-Shafe’i said does not contradict the agreement of the scholars that Bukhary and Muslim are the two most accurate books after the Quran for two reasons:

  1)    The saying of Imam al-Shafe’i was before the existence of the two books Al-Bukhary and Muslim. Imam Shafe’i died (204 H) when Al-Bukhary was ten years old. Also, the birth of  Imam Muslim on (204 H).

  2)    The correct opinion amongst the scholars is that Al-Muwata’a comes after Saheeh Al-Bukhary and saheeh Muslim.

  1)    Al-Istithkaar fe Sharh mathahib ‘Ulama’a Al-Amsaar. (Printed)

  2)    Al-Tamheed Lema Fe Al-Muwata’a Min Al-Ma’aani Walasaaneed. Both By: Ibin Abdullbarr. Died (463 H) Was printed in Morocco in a volume of 24 books.
