I want to share with you a review of the fanfiction of the incredibly talented @crazymisscarly.
In another life...
This is a Falice story, although there are little Bughead crumbs in there. But if you've read @crazymisscarly's stories before, you'll like this one too. She did not reveal that she had updated the story with a new chapter the other day. And this part is incredible!
@crazymisscarly is an amazingly talented writer. She immerses the reader in a story filled with details and interactions you never expect to see. She brings up important mental health topics in her stories, and doesn't just leave them up in the air, she lets the characters deal with those things. Characters don't just show up to serve just one plot. They pass through story, affect it and leave behind an important trace that never goes unnoticed.
Some things happen to Betty in the new chapter. Things that had already happened to her before, related to the mental impact on her child's brain by an adult. And as in life, such an interaction does not pass without a trace and is not cured in two weeks. These are things that a person often has to deal with for many years, especially if it is a child. As I read this chapter, I realized that in some ways this is only the beginning of a long story that Alice will have to deal with.
I really look forward to the continuation of this fanfic and wish @crazymisscarly that her imagination and incredible writing talent do not run out.
And a very big wink at the fact that I'm looking forward to the end of Tapes of Us so much.
This Shouldn't Be A Lonely Time - Chapter 5
Read on AO3
It had been inevitable, she knew. From the moment she accepted Jughead’s invitation to get out and forget the cares of the day, something had been burning. They’d been drawn to each other like moths to a flame. Forgetting seven years of hurt as they relaxed in each other’s company. Play acting like it was fine, that they didn’t have baggage weighing them down. Stumbling happily into mistakes that could be their undoing

They picked up coffee to go from Pop’s and set off towards the woodland on the outskirts of Riverdale. Betty could feel the atmosphere between them getting heavier with every step. The idea of a walk, which had seemed like such a good way to put off the talk for a couple more minutes and to give them both space, now seemed foolish and a way to prolong the pain.
They barely spoke to each other until they got to the edge of the woods. Betty had no idea how to segue from pleasantries to…whatever it was they needed to air today.
‘So, I guess we can’t put it off any longer,’ Jughead vocalised the thought that was going around Betty’s head, as they started down the main woodland path.
‘I guess not.’ She agreed. ‘I’m not sure where to start. I’d say at the beginning but –‘
‘It’s not clear where that is?’

Hold Back The River: Chapter 8
His eyes met hers across the table with an intensity she hadn’t seen before. He grabbed hold of her hand. She didn’t see him move but suddenly he was standing in front of her, pulling her off the chair before cupping her face in his hands.
‘This is a bad idea.’ He said quietly.
‘I don’t care.’ She replied, closing the gap between them.
‘We should..’ Jughead trailed off before refocussing. ‘Think. We should think about this.’
Betty shook her head very slightly. ‘No,’ she whispered. ‘I’ve done enough thinking.’

Just finished chapter fifteen! Phew. Many feelings.
By the way, many of Riverdale's super big twists have already been written in Bughead fanfiction.
Can you help me find one, please? I think it was inspired by Seeking a Friend for the End of the World. It was written after 4-17 and is centered on Baghead who lost each other after high school. But then a meteorite falls on Earth and all the old friends gather at Veronica's house to spend the last days together and return to each other's lives.
Needless to say, Archie in this story is, as usual, an asshole, but he is hardly even mentioned in conversations. If you need more details, then he is not invited to this party of close friends. It seems he spends the last hours of his life at parties in the company of unknown girls.
