“Come on, where are we going?”

Tommy glanced over at Evan, who sat in the passenger seat squirming with anticipation, a soft black blindfold covering his eyes. He looked like a kid on Christmas morning—bouncing slightly in place, fingers twitching on his thighs, smiling with barely restrained excitement.

Tommy chuckled. Evan had been trying to pry a hint out of him for the past twenty minutes.

“Baby, if I told you,” Tommy drawled, “it wouldn’t be a surprise now, would it?”

Evan pouted, then shot a sly grin in his direction. “What if I guess?”

“Sure,” Tommy said, amused. He knew damn well Evan wasn’t going to guess right. “Have at it.”

Evan rolled the window down, cocking his head as if trying to listen for clues. He looked like an excited puppy, and Tommy had to bite back a laugh at the visual.

“Well, we’re still in the city,” Evan said ruefully after a few impatient honks from cars around them.

Tommy deadpanned. “Perceptive.”

Evan smacked his arm lightly, and Tommy caught his hands, pressing a kiss to his knuckles.

“Okay, oh—bungee jumping!”

“Definitely not.”

“Hmm. Tantric yoga class?”

Tommy paused, not at all displeased by the idea, picturing Evan’s long legs and the positions they could try out. He filed it away for another day. “Not today.”

“Not Miceli’s?

“No,” Tommy said quickly. “Not Miceli's.

He wouldn’t say his favorite restaurant was cursed but he’d learned his lesson. He loved their food, sure—but he loved Evan more. And after two disastrous attempts, he wasn’t willing to test their relationship like that again. Besides, they’d turned it into a game lately, trying to find a new favorite spot together—something that felt like theirs.

Evan squeezed his hand just as they came to a stop. “Good.”

“You can take the blindfold off now,” Tommy said.

Evan tugged it off and blinked, eyes adjusting. before frowning slightly.

“You…brought me to Harbor?”
