Me, too!  Anything to distract, given what’s happened.  And I really would like to get back in the fic writing mood, eventually, after all of this research paper writing I’ve been doing for English class.  One more month of that, though. 😓

This is great! Forgive me if you’ve already mentioned it, but what era is this set in? I mean, since there’s buses and everything, it can’t be too far from the present but when I saw ‘Lady’ i totally got big hats and long dress vibes. (I think it’s a side effect of repeatedly watching pride and prejudice recently) but are they perhaps related to nobility?

I'm very glad you asked this, Grace, because I haven't mentioned it, and... I have absolutely no idea. 😅😅😅  I’m actually a little iffy on the ‘Lady’ thing as well, but I’d like to think that the Aren sisters are upper-class, if not aristocrats.  Nothing’s set in stone with this AU, yet, which is why I’m encouraging you all throw ideas at me. 😉

Notice that Elsa’s speaking in this short segment is slightly more formal than her sister’s, kind of like in canon-verse:

"Anna, from what you have said, you've known this Kristoff for barely a week.  And you know what I have told you . . ."

" 'You can't marry a man who you've just met,' " Anna recited, heaving a great sigh.  "Yeah, I know.  Look, Elsa, if you're so worried about his intentions, why don't I just invite him to dinner, and let you judge him for yourself?"

"Very well," Elsa conceded.  "You may invite him for tomorrow night."

Very nice. :D I wonder if Kristoff is always taking the bus - he didn’t seem to be needing to be somewhere in the original (staying with Anna to help her Shop) so does he grab it at Anna’s stop after finishing work? Does he work nights/mornings? Or does he live nearby and have flexible working? Very interesting. :D (Go Elsa the dame like figure. XD)

Thanks, Dag!  You bring up the other thing I haven’t figured out—Kristoff’s occupation.  It might depend on the setting.  I did describe him in part 1 as muscular and broad-shouldered... Could be anything from a handyman to a construction worker to... I don’t know what else.  Again, ideas are appreciated! :)

Last Friday, I started writing some fanfic again.  It’s the next chapter in “Bus Stop”, part of my new Heiress AU.  Here’s what I have so far:

After that first meeting, Anna went to meet Kristoff at the bus stop every day. Her newfound cheerfulness did not go unnoticed for long, of course.  Despite being somewhat reclusive, Lady Elsa Aren was still very observant, and knew her sister all too well. One evening at the dinner table, about a week after Anna first met Kristoff at the bus stop, Elsa decided to broach the subject. "You've been a lot more chipper of late," she said, taking a sip of wine.  "Did you make a new friend on the bus?" "Yes, I did," Anna replied.  "He's very nice, and offered to help me shop when it was raining." "'He'?" Elsa echoed, sounding suspicious. "Yes, his name is Kristoff Bjorgman." "Did you tell him your name?" "Of course!"  Anna giggled softly, remembering the encounter like it was yesterday.  "He was very surprised that I was riding the bus." Elsa sighed.  "Anna, we've talked about this before.  You need to be careful.  Remember what happened the last time you started seeing a guy?" "Elsa, I'm sure it's not like that this time!" Anna protested.  "He's not like... like Hans!"

I’m still trying to work out everyone’s character/occupation/etc. in this AU, so comments and/or suggestions are appreciated! 😊

Uh, what else... oh.  I successfully rescued the SD card in my phone.  A Google search led me to the solution: if the card was still readable by a PC (it was), copy all of the data off, do a full reformat of the card, and copy everything back.  And indeed, during the initial copy, Windows was giving disk errors in the system event log while it was trying to read some of the music files (added about 2 months ago).  So aside from having to fill in some songs from the copies on my computer, everything went smoothly, and my phone is happy as a clam again.  I didn’t even need to reinstall any of the apps that were on the card! 😲

And tomorrow (meaning Thursday), I’m going to see an optometrist about getting a new (if probably very nearly the same) prescription for glasses.  I would have liked to see my ophthalmologist/surgeon (he knows more about my eyes than anyone else still practicing), but that will have to wait for another day.

Um, anyway.  Last night (actually early this morning, because I am insane), I actually kept my promise and started some writing, cranking out the first 338 words (mostly dialogue) of “Lock and Key” before I was too tired to continue.  Will probably do some more this evening.  Here is an unedited excerpt:

"And you accuse me of being clumsy," Elsa giggled.

"Well, you are," Anna insisted.

"Only when I don't get enough coffee."  Anna swore she could hear a slurp from the other end.  "Give me enough coffee, and I'm as sharp as a tack, killing instinct and all."

Anna groaned.  "You are the worst, Elsa."

"Please, Anna, let me do this job.  I promise I'll make it up to you."

What year? Anna thought.  "Fine, do your job.  But these constant late nights need to stop sometime.  We've barely gotten to see each other lately, let alone hang out."

"You try talking to D," the other woman grumbled.  "Trying to get time off, especially with so few of us at the Org, is like pulling teeth."

"I just might!"  An idea occurred to her, and she added, "But I might not have to."

"Wait, what?" Elsa said, confused.

Anna looked up, eyeing him with a half-amused, half-insulted expression.  "Are you suggesting that I undress in front of you, Kristoff Bjorgman?"

"I . . . of course not!" he said quickly, face burning at the thought of her . . . undressed.  "I'll have my back turned."

Anna smirked, clearly noticing his discomfort.  "Whatever you say, Mountain Man."

"Oh!" he said, pulling a snowgie from the bowl.  Before handing it to her, he hesitated.  "You aren't really going to throw it at her, are you?" he whispered.

Anna shook her head, and took the proffered snow goon, leaving Kristoff standing there with his bowl, looking baffled.

I did get some writing done while I was out.  Here’s a snippet...

"Why are there little snowmen in my kitchen, Ice Master?"

Kristoff flinched at her tone, but said calmly, "Do you remember when the Queen was sick, on Princess Anna's birthday, and she sneezed up an army of these things?"  Nora nodded.  "Well, apparently she is sick again; Princess Anna sent for me, but before I could find her, I saw these guys headed in here, and decided I should keep them out of trouble.  I hope I haven't done anything wrong, Mistress?"
