I was disabled in a few different ways. I was malnourished and had a broken wing. The lack of flight itself wasn't bad, it just barred me from several roles in the Wasp Kingdom that I wouldn't have qualified for anyway, but the lack of a wingtip to cover my haltere with caused a lot more problems. Because the wind would more easily knock it around, it would behave differently than the other haltere and throw me off balance; one wing being broken meant that the whole gyroscopic system was thrown off. Later on, I would learn to manage this, such as by using a leaf grown from my body to cover the exposed haltere, covering them both with a thick poncho, or using a cane to brace myself through bouts of vertigo.
My undernourishment, combined with injuries sustained in the Wasp Kingdom, left me small-framed and unable to easily heal from injuries that other bugs could. Once I got the leaf of the Sapling, I didn't need to worry about being physically hurt, but I was still physically weak without my Crown and still much too short for a Fly of my species. Had I wanted to reproduce biologically, it would've dampened my chances.
Not really sure if this counts as a disability in the context of my source, but I was also quite unable to catch subtle pheromones from Hymenopterans like the Wasps I lived with. For the duration of my stay at the Wasp Kingdom, I was surrounded by an emotional language that I couldn't speak or understand. I suppose it could be very, very loosely described as 'bug autism'.

A while ago, I sent in a confession about seeing so many roleplay blogs in the main tag and wanting to talk to them. Well, I ended up reaching out, and they're super chill! I know that kin and roleplay spaces don't often overlap, but it's been nice playing with people who know my world. Even if I do get called a bunch of names for what I did in canon (all in good fun, of course).

Everything's starting to make sense. Of course I like to drink out of a straw, I was a Fly who had sponging and sucking mouthparts! Of course I had a bad habit of sitting so close to heaters that I'd burn myself, I used to not have to worry about being burned thanks to my fire magic! Of course I love collecting reference books, I used one to find out about my crown and the Sapling!

I don't have many memories of the Wasp Kingdom, but in the memories I do have, I was at vastly different ages. I served the Wasps for far longer than the artbook would have one assume before I left to get my crown. I believe I may have been a child when I was brought in. Knowing that brings a whole different context to my relationship with the Wasps, one that I'm struggling to reconcile.
