Just Kiss Me

“What the hell was that?” Giles asked, slamming the door behind them.

“Me saving the day," Spike said, arms outstretched at his sides before letting them fall. "Once again. You're welcome.”

A scoff left Giles’ lips shaking his head at the vampire who was lighting a cigarette in his living room.

“That was reckless," his fists clenched as he watched the other lazily take a huff of his cigarette. "Beyond reckless Spike.”

“Yeah well,” he said, sucking in a deep inhale before blowing it out. “I'm a vampire, luv, not gonna die.”

“You very much could have,” he huffed, marching towards him and ripping the lit cigarette from his mouth and smashing it out in a used tumbler. “Don't smoke in my house.”

Spike narrowed his eyes at the Watcher as he walked towards the kitchen to clear the glasses they had left out the night before.

“I’m fine. Slayers fine and all her little friends. Most importantly you're fine. Lay off and let me smoke.”

Giles turned to him as Spike pulled out another smoke, daring the human to take it. He matched his glare for a moment longer before taking off his glasses and rubbing his eyes muttering about foolish vampires and unnecessary risks.

“You could have died.”

“Yeah and I didn't. So say thank you and give us a kiss.”

Giles frowned at him and the cock sure grin on Spike’s face. “You're impossible,” he complained, watching as Spike sauntered closer to him. “Nearly gave me a heart attack.”

Spike hummed, blowing out smoke to the side before leaning closer to the other. “I'm fine Rupe, always will be. I'm not the self sacrificing type.”

Giles sighed, anger leaving him. He withheld his want to nag him and comment on the lie Spike intended to keep trying to sell.

“Sure,” he nodded, capturing the blonde's lips in a tobacco flavoured kiss. “Thank you, for protecting them… me.”
