Rhiannon’s Wrap (upper left) and Rhiannon’s Cloak (lower left) were the results of a collaboration between @buffalowoolco and myself to create a “showstopping” Shawl for a Stevie Nicks Design Competition. I wanted to work with the Buffalo Wool Co. lace weight yarn Sexy. I wanted a dark night sky 🌌 purple/blue and Ron came through with the perfect colour! First the Cloak with its 20,000 beads and crystals ( it didn’t win) but some other crazy knitters did want to knit one. As it had not been knitted with a pattern in mind I needed to come up with an alternative So I created a smaller version (with only 7000 beads). This version was created with the same patterns and motifs, but was easier to write and is easier knit! The beads used in both were the 24k gold dipped delicas! Today was definitely a good mail day from our friends at @buffalowoolco 🎉 Prairie is their newest yarn (it premiered in their booth at STITCHES West) and it is 50% Bison Down and 50% Muga Silk. We haven’t gotten hooks and needles into it yet but rest assured that will be remedied shortly! Now… about those insoles. If you haven’t tried these insoles in your shoes yet, you are missing out. At a show several months ago, Ron & Theresa gave us each a set of these because our feet were hurting so badly from standing on concrete all day that we could barely walk. We put them in our shoes that night and can go much longer pain free than with any other insoles. We also have these in our hiking boots and they keep our feet dry and pain free. No, they aren’t paying us for this endorsement. It’s just a really amazing product that y’all need to know about.
