Buddah & Nietzsche
The existence of the youtan poluo was for many centuries believed to be nothing more than a myth, until a Chinese farmer called Mr Ding found examples of these tiny, white flowers, which measure no more than 1mm in length.
The flowers are mentioned in Buddhist scripture but only bloom once every 3000 years, so you have to very lucky to see them.
It is native to China and Taiwan, as well as the Koreas, where it has been found growing on a statue of Buddha at the front of the Chonggye-sa Temple in Seoul. 💚
A Story About the Buddha that Helps Me Through Anxiety and OCD
This Buddhist story is part of the Jataka tales about the Buddha's previous lifetimes. I was introduced to this story from the book Radical Acceptance Embracing Your Life With The Heart Of A Buddha by Tara Brach PH. D.
This story helps me to navigate the thick heavy clouds of anxiety and OCD. This helps me to remember that you can make it through those heavy storm clouds and that the life you want is on the other side of fear. Focusing on values can help us navigate and lead us back to the life we desire to live. Focusing on our desire for freedom and to awaken love in our hearts.
