STORY IDEAS I’LL NEVER WRITE :: gia durand 

In the 90′s, Hydra had created it’s most elite death squad. Most of them were volunteers. Gia wasn’t. She never wanted to be a soldier -- a killer, but she was forced to. And she had done whatever it took to survive. Until she couldn’t. 

Hydra thought she was dead. Killed by the Winter Soldier himself in a routine sparring match, figuring her body finally rejected the serum. But they had disposed of her body in a careless way -- not even bothering to triple check to make sure there was no life left in her. Imagine her surprise when she woke up in a dumpster in the middle of Siberia. 

Fast-forward twenty years and Gia had been on the run ever since. Hiding out in an old Hydra safe-house. And it was safe, until the most feared assassin in Hydra’s history comes busting in. Her first thought is that Hydra sent him to kill her...again, but she quickly learns that he’s in the same situation she’s in. On the run. 

Now, they’re stuck together. Hydra’s still a looming threat; both of them are liabilities. She figures he’s a blessing in disguise -- he is the most feared assassin the world has ever seen. It’d be a nice change to have him on her side, have him protect her for once. 

But he’s not the man he used to be, in fact it’s clear that he’s barely even a man. So instead of him doing all the heavy lifting  killing, she has to. While he recovers from years and years of Hydra torture and tries to figure out how to be the man he was before the soldier, she’s forced to keep Hydra off their tail. It’s not as easy as it seems.

the one with the partner

A steady pattern of thumps against the coke bottle bag caught Bucky’s attention. He walked through the safe house from the back door where he had entered after making his security rounds. He followed the noise into the side room, seeing that Gia was working the bag with her hooks. 

Obviously, for a while since her hair was messy, falling out of the braid and the baby hairs sticking to her face with sweat. But her rhythm and breathing were steady, showing no signs of fatigue. 

“Enjoying the show?” she huffed out as she continued, not even tearing her eyes away from the bag as she switched to jabs on the higher part of the bag. 

“Would you like a sparring partner?” he asked, knowing it was better to work with someone than against a bag. A bag was too predictable – a sparring partner could prepare against a real life attack. 

“You offering?” she asked, finally glancing over to him but her patterned never faltered. He was impressed she had that much focus. 

“If you want.” he answered casually, not wanting to overstep. He could use the challenge as well – any day now Hydra could come knocking down their door. Sure he had his skills, but he wanted to make sure they were tuned up. 

The rhythm stopped as she stepped away from the bag. It swung back and forth on the chains, creating an evil metal screeching noise that Bucky tried not to focus on; it reminded him too much of the room Hydra put him in and their playthings. 

“Fine.” Gia agreed to his offer. He stepped into the room, following her over to the mat, “Just let me know when you want to tap out.” It sounded like it should be a teasing comment, but her face was serious as she began circling him like she was the shark and he was her prey. 

He let out a little laugh, looking down at his metal hand and clenching it into a fist briefly before unfurling it.

“I killed you once, haven’t I?” he asked, looking over at her, watching her movements like a trained hawk, “Should be easy enough to do it again.” Her eyes narrowed at him and he knew he hit a nerve. 

“I’d like to see you try.” she challenged him. He tilted his head at her just slightly, but enough to indicate that he accepted it.
