Prompt: “It’s okay to cry…”

You sighed as you threw anothershirt into your suitcase, not even bothering to fold it. You were exhausted,stressed, and nervous. Everything just felt so heavy at the moment, like thewhole world was just resting without a care on your shoulders, and it was weighing youdown. 

You were debuting soon with yourgroup. You had entered this building for the first time with so much hope andjoy that you’d be able to perform, produce music, and make relationships thatcould last a lifetime. But after training for about 2 years, you realised allthe hardships this job came with. You were the leader of the group, and thatjust added a lot more pressure on you. You were always expected to performflawlessly, sing perfectly, and you also had the weight of the team on yourshoulders.

They were your responsibility and you took that job veryseriously. It’s been hard not just for you, but for the entire band, lately. You,being their leader, vowed not to show any sign of weakness, because you had tobe strong for the girls/boys. You, as their leader, had to push them, encouragethem, lead them. Whatkind of leader would I be if I let them see me cry? you thought.

Right now, you were alone in yourroom. The band was meant to leave tomorrow evening to America to attend a dancecourse, which would be the final step in polishing your moves before showingthem to the world. Debuting, at first, was exciting, but when it neared, youfelt like cowering away. The thought of you not being good enough made you feelinsecure and worthless. At this point, you only knew one person that you couldshow your vulnerable side to, and someone who would definitely make you feelbetter.

“Hey baby,” your boyfriend’s voiceechoed throughout the room from the speakers of your phone. 

“Jungkook,” you sighed in relief.

“I was actually just about to leavethe studio to come see you. I had to cuddle you one last time before you leavefor America,” he said cutely.

You smiled, letting a tear fall.You were already feeling shit, now you had to be miles away from your boyfriend. 

“I’d love that, actually,” you saidsniffling just slightly, but Jungkook didn’t miss it.

“Y/N? Are you crying?” he askedconcern filled in his voice. 

That just made you want to cry evenmore. 

“I-I’m trying not to,” you mumbledsoftly.

“I’ll be right over. 5 minutes.Just hang in there okay? I love you, I’ll see you soon,” he said before hangingup. 

Just like he said, 5 minutes laterJungkook was bursting through your door. He quickly shrugged off his jacket andmoved closer to hug you. You broke down in his arms and sobbed, finally lettingall your bottled up emotions out. It felt good not to hold back. You were gladthat you were alone in the dorm, so your band mates didn’t have to see you likethis.

Jungkook stroked your back lightly,while pressing kisses to the top of your head. He held you tightly in hisembrace and you felt secured. After your crying slowed down a little, youpeeled your head off his chest and looked up at him teary eyed.

“Gosh, baby, don’t look at me likethat. It hurts me to see you like this,” he sighed. 

You sniffled and rubbed your eyes,then pressing your fingers to the side of your head to relieve the headachethat’s about to drop by soon. 

“I really needed you,” youwhispered.

“And you have me,” hereassured. “But you haven’t told me what’s wrong, Y/N.”

You sighed and pulled him to sit onthe bed with you. He wrapped an arm around your shoulders while you rested yourhead on his. 

“It’s been really hard so far. I-I’m not ready to debut.How would I know if I’m good enough for what people want to see out there? Whatif I mess up? And the girls/boys, I can’t let them down. I can’t let our producersand managers down. I can’t let my parents down nor can I let just anyone down. I’mjust really worried, Kook. And I’ve just been bottling up all my thoughts andemotions because I wanted to be strong for the girls/boys. I’m their leader, and ifI’m so weak like this then, how on earth am I supposed to lead them?” yousighed, venting out your feelings once and for all. 

Jungkook smiled softly and combedyour hairs to the side of your face. 

“I know how you feel, baby. It was just like that withme and the boys. It was really bad for me, damn, I can’t even imagine whatNamjoon hyung went through. He was the one carrying us all. But hey, thingsturned out okay, didn’t they? Leader or not, everyone has their tough times.It’s normal to doubt ourselves but we should never go to the extent ofdegrading our talent, our passion and our hopes. Just because you’re theirleader, doesn’t mean you can’t tell them your worries. In fact, doing that justmakes the whole team stronger. 

Only if we know what everyone’s going through,then we’d be able to help. Crying doesn’t mean you’re weak. Crying just showsthat you have the power to feel, that you have a big heart.  It’s okay to cry… It’s okay to tell people about how you feel. It’s okayto express your emotions. Showing your compassionate side to your band mates issomething you and them both need. And don’t worry too much about how you’regoing to do, it’s all part of the process. Trust that you and your band mateswill do their best. So don’t stress about it, love,”

You groaned and let your head fallto his chest. “You’re so good at giving advice.”

Hechuckled, “I love you so much, never doubt yourself, Y/N,” he said, cupping your cheek. 

You smiled and leaned forward, your lips meeting with his soft, plush ones. The two of you kissed passionately, but then a knock was heard.

You pulled away and looked towards the door seeing one of your band mates standing there, smirking at the two of you.

“How long have you been standing there?!” you asked worriedly.

“Long enough to know what an amazing guy Jungkook is. You’re seriously so lucky, Y/N. Also, why didn’t you tell us you were having hard times? You’re more of a brother/sister than just a leader to us, Y/N. We love you, you know you can talk to us,” he/she said kindly.

“I’ll make sure to do exactly that from now on. I love you guys too, I’m sorry I acted so foolishly. We’ll have a group meeting in ten at the dining table, yeah?” you asked.

He/She nodded smiling and then bid goodbye to Jungkook before leaving. 

“I thought we were going to cuddle all night?” Jungkook asked pouting.

You pinched his cheeks and placed a kiss on his lips. “We will, don’t worry. I need to talk to the girls/boys first, won’t take long. You’re welcome to join,” you said.

He shook his head politely, “I shouldn’t be intruding. I’ll wait here for you, and if you aren’t back in ten minutes, I’ll stomp over there and carry you back myself,” he firmly stated.

You giggled, “Okay, you big baby.”

Just as you were about to leave the room Jungkook called out your name. You turned to face him waiting for him to speak.

“You’re gonna kill it, okay?” he said smiling.

You grinned, “I will.”
