but I just can't listen to this album much more. so just some quick impressions, I guess.

My review comments

I listened to every song at least 2xs, except hooligans. couldn't do it. couldn't force myself to listen to it again, once was the max.

note: overall a disappointing album and one I wouldn't normally listen to again. I need clips of all of Jimin's vocals, tho. I understand Jimin's nervousness now. I suspect most of the songs will be better live because the heavy production across all of them definitely made the songs worse than they might have been. they should have used more Korean, it would have helped a lot.

swim: originally, I thought it was the wrong TT, should be a b-side. better on 2nd listen. might be better live w/o the heavy production. but then I listened to the rest of the album and realized, I liked this one probably the most out of all of them. b2b had the potential to be the best TT, but they ruined it.

aliens: wth. too much production. hurts my ears. I had to force myself to listen to it a 2nd time. Jimin does some cool stuff, though.

hooligans: wth x 2. horrid. absolutely awful. the lyrics are stupid. the music is awful. the knife sounds - ewww. and people complained about the whispers that Jimin used on LC. might be the absolute worst song on the album for me. there is no saving this song.

body-to-body: I would have said this should have been the TT. It could have been a really good song. but what's up with jin? awful. v, too. they used them too much, and it ruined the song.

fya: ok, but not for me. heavy heavy beat. reminds me of a nightclub song where no one really listens, they just dance. the lack of good english pronounciation by some members stands out on this one. a lot. because there's no cover from instrumentals.

merry-go-round: not for me. jk's falsetto or whatever it is, with that production on it. yuk. same with v. again, jin's vocals didn't fit. whats' with all the effects on j-hope's vocals? and the slow beat, it does remind me of a merry go round, which isn't good imo.

2.0: eh. not for me. like how Jimin ended the song tho.

normal: Jimin, yes. not terrible, but I don't think I'd listen to it again if it wasn't for Jimin. j-hope, what happened to you, I don't remember disliking your voice this much before?

like animals: Jimin, yes. otherwise, no. not for me. over produced?

they don't know about us: I wanted to like this song because Jimin's on the credits. but it's not good. not as teeth-gritting bad as hooligans, and aliens, but still. I do like Jimin's parts. the poor pronounciation by some members is in your face in this song.

one more night: too much rm, his vocals get monotonous after a bit. v's high vocals are awful. as are jk's. I was cringing until it got to Jimin's part, my brow unfurrowed and my body relaxed. but then back to the rest. oddly j-hope sounds ok on this. I thought the same for jin, but then there was some higher vocals from him that were… not good. it sounds like what a beiber or puth song. just not for me

please: ok. Jimin parts are good, really improve the song. but I don't like jk's vocals over Jimin's parts. and they still had way too much production on it. v sounds reasonable on this. suits jin better too.
