I honestly would love to draw a comic out of the prompt offered (like how the Lindworm story sounds chaotically funny in my head whereas Dazai's Prince Lindworm while Atsushi's the 'bride-to-be' that'll tear his skin apart.. or how in the Firebird story, instead of a werewolf that would help out Prince Dazai, it was a weretiger.. or how in the Swan Lake story, Atsushi's the cursed Odette..!! It's really really hard to not froth from the mouth wanting to draw it all up ><)

But.. instead, it all turned up to the art above.. as well as a little comic-like compensation for the lacking of delivery for what you might've expected to get ueueueue-

Starring (ofc) the pairing of the day, where the basic summary of the while thing started with Atsushi sharing to Dazai how he used to read 'fairytales' in the orphanage to pass time.. or whenever he was left alone for once.

Dazai wanting to keep Atsushi around (while he's being punished lol), well,

Atsushi : Just what am I reading?

Dazai : Exactly what you asked me to look for— Atsushi : Bullsh*t.

Dazai : ... Isn't that a fairytale compilation book? Atsushi : IT IS. But I asked for an authenticated one! (not something you obviously wrote!)

Dazai : What difference would that make? It isn't like I did anything drastic from these stories..

Dazai : .. for all you know, I could've wrote it all solely for your entertainment, Atsushi-kun ~ Atsushi : ...

Atsushi, offended : I see how it is! (tsk!) (Who is truly entertained off of these gestures!? you or me!?) Dazai, panicked : Wait! That came out wrong! (I even made sure to put everything with a happy ending..!) Atsushi, turns away : HEARD YOU LOUD AND CLEAR! Now go back to your desk and finish your paperwork like how Kunikida-san ordered you to!

Unbeknownst of Dazai who really was worrying about what Atsushi truly felt from the stories, Atsushi can already tell from reading alone how much care was still put from these fairytales.

The story of a Prince that was changed not because of a commoner lady but instead a commoner boy so self-sacrificial offered himself as bride instead of his own sister.

The story of a strange Prince in search of a bird that destroys his friend's works met a Beast beneath the Moonlight, who offered to help this peculiar royal in exchange of being fed by ochazuke(???). The portion where this strange Prince could've had all the riches and a beautiful maiden, yet still took the weretiger.

The story of a cursed Swan that wanted nothing more than to dance to his heart content, met a disguised Prince that truly just see this Swan and him alone.

It's all truly of a happy ending, but does Dazai have to put out there just how much inseparable they are?
