random au i just thought about (i might eventually write something with it)
so,,, rimbaud and verlaine run away with chuuya instead of divorcing fighting but decide to stay in japan. that mean they have to move far away from civilization to not be found. they end up moving in a small village so lost its inhabitants doesn’t even use money.
long story short, it’s kenji’s village.
rimbaud and verlaine get used to this new life, and chuuya grows up feeling at home in this community (his ability is so useful, so are rimbaud’s and verlaine’s). he also ends up becoming kenji’s cool older brother figure.
then like in canon, kenji joins the ada and leaves the village. everyone at the ada quickly learns about that friend of his that is so cool and so strong, but they just assume it’s kenji being nice and admirative of someone older than him.
and then for some reason i haven’t thought up yet, chuuya comes to yokohama and everyone realizes that kenji wasn’t kidding at all — maybe he was even underestimating the guy. i think rimbaud and verlaine trained chuuya so he’s a strong fighter.
(and maybe dazai sees the annoying little farmer guy beat up a group of criminals with just his legs and he falls in love just a little)
