Really hard time at work right now. Our new coordinator is awful. She is a hypocrite. She doesn't do the job she was hired to do and then complains she is working way more than she gets paid to work. (*NEWSFLASH* THAT'S LIFE AS A TEACHER, AND IF YOU DON'T KNOW IT BY NOW, YOU REALLY NEED TO GET OUT OF THE PROFESSION!) She has belittled all of us to our faces as well as behind our backs, in front of the kids. She wants to implement a Montessori model, and we're NOT a Montessori school. In fact, her "supervisors" -- myself and J -- are both philosophically opposed to Montessori. We are supervisors in that she doesn't want to be teaching, she wants us to do all the hard work. She wants things done her way (fine) and it's our fault that the kids aren't getting it yet because we're not implementing it right, but she refuses to show us how, and yells at us in front of the kids. She also grabbed me yesterday and moved me rather than verbally redirecting first. She posts little snide comments about us to her phone, and then "accidentally" sends them to me. (Yeah, right.) And she's not even sorry about it. But guess what? Now the joke's on her, because I have ammunition to take to the principal about how awful she is. I have the same level of education as she does. She is making everyone miserable. Myself and J felt physically sick after today's confrontations. And she's told all of us without actually saying the words, that she wants us to quit. Well, she may get her wish, but she's going to have one hell of a mess to clean up and irate parents on her hands, and I'm not going to feel one but sorry for her.
