I swear Ghost of Tsushima and now Yotei are some of the only games I take loooooads of pictures in cause they are such gorgeous games!

Atsu & Jubei Ghost of Yōtei (2025)
"You're only here because of me..."
there are so many little touches in Ghost of Yotei, like how as children Jubei had a proper bokken while Atsu got a glorified branch. Atsu learned the shamisen and how to work the forge, but Jubei seemed to spend his time in the practice ring instead of learning such skills. his dream to be a samurai wasn't encouraged, but he was clearly being taught the basics of swordplay to a far greater degree than Atsu. They both learned sumi-e painting I believe? But Atsu was the one who got to go with her father on errands like with the horses and helped to forge the blades...
It's interesting how their parents are seemingly insistent on giving the kids an education generally reserved for those of a higher station that is gender segregated to a certain degree, even though their situation is as it is, but still Atsu is the one clearly favored to take over the forge. Idk. Maybe I'll have clearer thoughts once I finish the game.
