"Come on," a familiar voice whines playfully as she takes his hand in hers. Lovely brown locks dance swiftly in the wind, her laugh echoing in the hills while she runs through the open green field. He can't help but be awestruck by everything about her. Dark chocolate eyes that always held so much love, a voice that soothes him during every moment, and a love that would never end.
"Bry! Where are we going," he chuckles, running after her? She doesn't respond, no, all she does is turn around and give him a smile filled with secrecy. God how that drove him to insanity at times. "I'm being serious. Where are you takin-," he stops in his tracks when a thousands of rose petals covers the area in front of them. It was little things like this that made him love her more, which he though impossible every time.
He expected her to turn to him with her usual grin. Though something was wrong. Very wrong. She turned around with tears in her eyes, a weak smile playing at her lips. "My prince," she whispers softly, her hands reaching to his face, one on each cheek, "you know I love you with my entire being?"
Giving her a look of confusion, he shakes his head quickly, emerald eyes glued to hers. "Of course... Briar, what's wrong," he asked unsure. Again she doesn't respond to him. Slowly, she leans in to brush her lips against his. How he loves the taste of her lip gloss and her warm touch. His arms wrap around her waist, the kiss deepening. He was right though, something was wrong. This kiss of sweet passion was entirely different then ones they had shared in the past. It was needy and strong, but free and soft. He knew what it was.. she was saying goodbye.
"I'm so sorry," she whispers against his lips, "just know that I will always love you. Forever. My Hoppy... you've shown me love that not even fairy tales can comprehend. Thank you for loving me... but it's time for me to say goodbye. I.. I want you to be happy. Forget about me and love again." She escapes from the embrace to walk into the pile of petals, a spindle sitting in the center. That hadn't been there before, he thought to himself. No.
"Briar. No! Stop," he screamed after her! Though it was too late. The brown eyed beauty touched the needle. "BRIAR!"

Hopper woke up in a cold sweat, hyperventilating from the dream he had just had. While he had many dreams of such occurrences, this one seemed to real. He felt sick to his stomach, too real. His head turned to look at the sleeping beauty that shared his bed every night. "I thought I lost you," he muttered, leaning in to kiss her forehead. She was cold.
The frog prince laid a hand on her head only to feel it ice cold. Her whole body was cold. "Bry, come on.. wake up," he gently urged, shaking her out of sleep. Still no response, He took no time in rushing to the phone to call 911.

He stood at the doorway of the hospital room, his love lying limp in the bed. Doctors had told him that they were trying everything they could, but she was gone. This wasn't right. That dream, then finding her like that. It couldn't be just coincidental.
Suddenly the boy prince jumped once he felt a strong hand on his shoulder. Behind him was no one other then the headmaster. "I am so sorry son," he said genuinely, his usual icy green eyes much warmer.
Hopper moved his shoulder in a quick fast moment to get Milton's hand off. "I don't need your pity nor am I your son. I would greatly appreciate it if you left us alone," he replied, anger seeping from his mouth. The headmaster seemed to get the message, though before he left, he set a balloon next to the hospital bed. It read two simple words that only angered the prince more. I'm sorry. I'm sorry? You sick bastard. Planting lies in my head. Harassing not only me, but my princess. How dare you be sorry. Even if you are, you will never have the satisfaction of being forgiven as long as I live.
The heart monitor was just a straight line. No life was inside the pale girl. He wouldn't let the doctors take her though. He couldn't. He loved her too damn much to say goodbye. Walking towards the bed, he stared at her for what seemed like forever, Who would have thought that 13 years prior he met the angel in front of him? Ever day knowing her was a blessing, even the ones when she was with the pirate bastard. No, that didn't even matter anymore. His princess, his love, his future wife, the future mother of his tadpoles, the one he was going to die old with was gone.
He leaned in for what seemed like the last time to press their lips together. They were cold, lifeless, opposites of Briar. He didn't know what to expect. Maybe something to spark. Was his love not strong enough to break the curse, possibly death? He rose and began to walk away when he felt a hand tug on his own. "I thought I told you to move on," a groggy familiar voice said behind him. His actions were kick as he turned to the bed.
"Bry!?" He grabbed her and held her tightly. He could smell the rose scent that lingered from her hair. Her body was a bit warmer then when he had previously touched it. More importantly, he could feel her heart beat against him. The monitor was just another sign that he wasn't delusional.
It was in this moment that he realized that he couldn't be without her. Never again. He wanted to live his life with her every single day. He wanted to wake her up every morning with breakfast in bed. He wanted to share a house with a sweet white picket fence that she always talked about. He wanted to have petty fight with her that never meant anything. He wanted her. "Marry me."

"Do you Hopper Croakington the second, take Briar Rose Beauty, to be your beloved spouse, knowing in your heart that you will be a faithful friend, and a loving companion? On this special day, in the presence of family and friends as witnesses, do you give your sacred vow that you will always be with Briar and support her, in times of sickness and in times of health, in times of joy and in times of sorrow? Do you promise to love her completely, to console and comfort her during difficult times, to laugh with her and to grieve with her, to share with her life’s simplest but most enduring pleasures, to be truthful and honest with her, and to cherish her, for as long as you both shall live," the priest decked out more then usual asked?
Hopper smiled widely, looking onto his rose in white. They had waited a year to marry so they could graduate from Ever After High. It was worth the wait now that they were standing in front of all of their friends and family. "I do."

Dressed in a dress of white and ivory, her train over three yards long. Her black eyelashes fluttered behind her veil. "I do."
The priest nodded, a large smile plastered on his old face. "Hopper and Briar have chosen to write their own vows," he began before turning to Lionel, "May I have the rings. Hopper and Briar's rings are an external and visible sign of the internal and spiritual bond of love which unites their two hearts. May they serve as a seal of the vows Hopper and Briar have made to one another. Bless these rings, symbols of eternity, beauty and strength. Bless the couple who give them and wear them—may they ever live in harmony, unity, love, and happiness from this day forward."
Hopper takes her hands looks into her dark eyes lovingly. "Briar, I never would have thought that I could meet the love of my life at 5, but I did. I love you unconditionally and without hesitation. I vow to love you, encourage you, trust you, and respect you. As a family, we will create a home filled with learning, laughter, and compassion. I promise to work with you to foster and cherish a relationship of equality knowing that together we will build a life far better than either of us could imagine alone. Today, I choose you to be my wife. I accept you as you are, and I offer myself in return. I will care for you, stand beside you, and share with you all of life’s adversities and all of its joys from this day forward, and all the days of my life," he replied, his voice echoing from the walls of the great church, slipping the band onto her finger.
By this time, Briar was crying. "My dear Hoppy...I choose you. To stand by your side and sleep in your arms. To be joy to your heart and food for your soul. To learn with you and grow with you, even as time and life change us both. I promise to laugh with you in good times and struggle alongside you in bad times. I promise to respect you and cherish you as an individual, a partner, and an equal, knowing that we do not complete, but complement each other. May we have many adventures and grow old together and may us live a long life of love together. I give my whole self to you. Not only are you my other half, but you hold my heart forever and always," she cried out, a grand smile under the veil, slipping the band onto him.
"By the power vested in me by the Kingdom of Croakington, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss," he announces. Hopper takes the veil that was a wall between them, and lays it over her head. Cleaning a tear from her eye, he takes her chin to kiss her softly. This was more he could ever ask for, not the wedding, but his luck to find the absolute love of his life. "Family and Friends, I present to you for the first time as husband and wife, Hopper and Briar Croakington!"
