Brownells customer Jack K discusses his rifle for Sunday Gunday. "This rifle started off in the 1960s as a full military 03A3 Springfield that I used for high-power competition. I restocked it with a semi-inletted Herters target stock, added a Timney Trigger and Redfield Olympic target sights. As local 600 and 1000 yard ranges disappeared so did my interest in high-power competition. The rifle sat for years in the back of my gun safe until I decided to find a new use for it. I rebarreled it with a Harte BR grade stainless barrel in 257 AI and replaced the Redfield sights with a 6.5X20 power telescopic sight.  Shooting 85 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip bullets at 3570 ft./s with Winchester 760 powder, the rifle shoots sub 1/4 moa groups and has taken prairie dogs out past a laser measured 800 yards."
