That’s so “basic” We are shamed for liking the norm For enjoying the things others enjoy too We are shamed for the most human of all things we do We make connections Reasons or things that link us to others In our society the broken ones want everyone else to be broken too That’s why when groups of people find something they mutually enjoy They taint it They turn that thing “basic” As if “basic” is a bad thing As if human connection is a bad thing They ruin what they don’t understand So that they’re not the only ones left feeling alone
