A year ago yesterday, a chance misstep caused my ankle to break in 3 places. I can be sentimental and these anniversaries mean something to me, especially when it took a lot of mental and physical strength to get literally back on two feet. It still hurts, but I've just come back from a trip where I walked 53 miles over 3 days, and I've just ran the farthest I've ever ran. That break was a brilliant thing, I believe.
