#broken bits

It’s dark at dawn now. Seasons are changing. I’m not changing so much. I feel about the same as I did last year, and maybe the year before. It’s like looking out a window and seeing a reflection that holds pace alongside the rest of the world. 

I am the world. I am every experience, every ray of light, every fallen leaf. This is how I feel when I think about death. The world isn’t dying. The world is going to sleep. The world is going away and coming back again.

I think of us, floating together, floating alone, floating out in space. Too much space, not enough common ground to connect the space. Too much dead air to connect all the deaths. Too much typing, not enough plot. 

If I could have any dream, I’d dream of you and me, entwined, emotionally, mentally, in a basket that’s sinking in the sea. We are a breath escaping through deep waters. We are eyes where the light can’t go.
