Why is RENT important?
Problems of airing a not-so-live version of RENT last night, let’s revisit the impact the show had on theater itself.
Twenty-three years later, it may be easy to overlook the fact RENT was wildly important. A 1997 review states: “it is clear that Rent is a work of true originality, created by a serious young artist who has written passionately about people whose lives he understands. In so doing, he has used contemporary musical idioms (rock, gospel, calypso, rap) within a dramatic context far more effectively than previous Broad- way composers. Larson's work has come closer than any other since Hair to solving the dilemma of making Broadway music once again.”

Saw Be More Chill last night and got a picture with George Salazar!!
I live for musicals that have one song, when sung by one actor and when they hit a certain note it gives you chills....Even better if it has more than one of those songs. If it doesn’t have one-- well, I really question how good of a musical it can be.
Here are just a few of my go to musical songs when I want that feeling...I could go on.
Santa Fe/Something to Believe In (Jermeny Jordan)
Till I Hear You Sing (Ramin Karimloo)
Still (Ramin Karimloo)
I’ll Be There (Hadley Fraser)
This is the Moment (Christian Noll)
Someone Like You (Linda Eder)
In My Dreams (Christy Altomare)
At Last (James Barbour and Kate Shindle)
Farewell Good Angel (James Barbour)
Hard to Be the Bard (Christian Borle)
Her Voice (sean palmer)

this is probably going to sound stupid but
i think one of the small things about dear evan hansen that often goes overlooked is the way evan sits in chairs and stuff. listen- he always just makes himself as small as possible and curls right up against the side of the chair as if he's afraid of taking up too much space (especially true at the beginning of so big/so small and when heidi went to dinner at the murphy's) and it always makes me want to cry because it's just so real and ahdksjdjdjd
Random Person: “Hamilton sucks and it’s a disgrace to all musicals!”
Me: I have to respect their opinion no matter how much I disagree.
Also me: GIVE ME A POSITION, SHOW ME WHERE THE AMMUNITION IS!!!!!
don’t be afraid to go on don’t give up hope come what may.
