Broadside Electric, Tam Lin
Day 3 is another favourite of mine. There's something about the high guitar sound and the two voices that take turns telling the story that I just really enjoy. I hope you will, too.

@lurking-latinist I don't actually use Spotify (Luddite!) so I didn't realize that listing of Broadside Electric was probably just a placeholder. Here's their performance of Tam Lin.
The time has come for action Leave your satisfaction Don't you hear St. George's tune St. George's tune is calling you on Freedom was your mother Fight for one another Leave the factory, leave the forge And dance to the new St. George
Don't believe pretenders Who say they would defend us While they flash their teeth and wave The other hand is being paid They choke the air and bleed us These noble men who lead us Leave the factory, leave the forge And dance to the new St. George
The fish and fowl are ailing The farmer's life is failing Where are all your back room boys? Your back room boys can’t save us now We're poisoned by the greedy Who plunder on the needy Leave the factory, leave the forge And dance to the new St. George
This seems appropriate to Labor Day, perhaps. (I could have sworn I’d posted this before, but I guess not!) “The New St. George” was written by Richard Thompson (most well known as a member of Fairport Convention) in 1972.
This version by Broadside Electric (friends of mine from college) was my introduction to it; this was recorded in 1994.
Hal-an-Tow
This is another shameless plug for a band I know (they’re not really together anymore though; they kind of wandered off in different directions and had kids and stuff). Every once in a while they get together again, though.
They’re an American band that does British folk with klezmer and Balkan elements--I think they started out as a Steeleye Span cover band. They identify as “folk music with teeth,” and it’s kind of a running joke to keep a body count at each show.
