When I was in my last year of Primary School my appendix burst and I had to go the hospital to get it removed.
Was in for a few days, got a little scar and was sent on my way, end of story riiight?
Well...
Yeah so I got sepsis.
They sent me home with poison still in my body and I had to be blue lighted the same night.
So my tiny scar is now a big ass L shaped scar because they had to unzip my stitch and patch me back up again once they got the poison out that they were meant to take out the first time but just forgot somehow I guess??? Idk how the fuck they missed it all I know is it fucking hurt like hell having that shit still inside me and that those few days in A&E turned into almost a month long stay on a in intensive care.
Craziest part? Me and my family only found all this out like a few years ago when I picked up a copy of my medical history for some unrelated thing and I just so happened to see sepsis on it.
They never told my parents I had sepsis.
I was on death's door and the NHS just decided not to tell them.
All they told them was that I just had a teensy bit of poison left in my system that needed to be taken out and then they quietly made a note that I had actually contracted fucking sepsis because of their fuck up.
But hey, pobody's nerfect right?
