Thinking of how qifrey's kids all have a good basis of how they should be treated thanks to qifrey and olly and that's why they consistently refuse to fall for the brimhats shit. They were taught that people should be good to each other, the world should be fair though it often isn't, they are individuals worthy of love, and that they will always have a place to go no matter what. The cult tactics don't work on them 🥰
Fascinated by the Brimhats, specifically their nature as an apparently organized group. The Knights Moralis and other Pointed Cap witches seem to conceive of all resistance to the Day of Conspiracy/deliberate proliferation of forbidden magic as arising from this one organization, which is at once nebulous and spread out, and also singularly motivated. So far, this has held relatively true, except that it can't be, logically. The Brimhats are an organization with what seems to be a kind of orthodoxy. They're not representative of every reason someone could want to use and/or spread forbidden magic, and I expect that the further on we get in the series, the more we're going to see people who are definitely not Brimhats, and just as definitely not law-abiding Pointed Cap witches. Especially with their thing about Coco, the Brimhats read more like an apocalyptic religious group than a more generically political revolutionary movement. They do want a societal upheaval, and they do have genuine grievances with how the world is run at the moment, and yes, they even take actions towards this that often align with the ideals of other unaffiliated parties—but as a group, they seem to have many 'required' beliefs that do not naturally follow from opposition to the Day of Conspiracy, which is pretty realistic for a revolutionary group, actually.
The series that's already gone out of its way to criticize the sociopolitical lines drawn by Pointed Cap society is surely going to dig into this, right?
Adina being a brimhat makes a lot of sense actually, because how else would the brimhats get all this forbidden knowledge if not from the tower of tomes? Having a rat in the library is only logical. Also, if this is true, the whole "Agott's mom denied her tutelage because she wasn't talented enough" thing could be an excuse for Adina to send her away in order to protect her, since the brimhats do tend to experiment on the children they get their hands on or a the very least put them in danger. Also, if Adina is indeed that veiled brimhat we've seen, I wonder why her silhouette appeared behind Qifrey in that panel where he was talking about the brimhats having experimented on him. What does this brimhat that's supposedly Adina have to do with the experiments and the tree hosts? Why was she shown in that panel specifically? Is she perhaps in charge of the experiments or throne who started them even?
After seeing that shirahama said that there wasn’t just a split between pointed and brim hats but also straight and crooked points I think I need to go through the manga again to see all of the crooked hats we get because I know we don’t get many (I think coco as a brim is depicted with a crooked point, but I’m pretty sure the only other crooked hats we get are depictions of before the pact)

Now imgine this meme with olruggio and qifrey with theyre adopted kids or even Alaira and Eunie at the “right” side and the brimhats doing THE WORSE CARETAKING IMAGINABLE(very probably on purpose)to two very traumatized and tired custas and tartah on the wrong side….you could even do a series of memes and calling them “the right and wrong way to take care of your magic apprentices” and even put references to real things that the brimhat did to them in the manga….
