It hurt. Not because of any wounds or anything, but because of how long she had spent in the cold. She was pretty sure that the top layer of her skin was frozen. She had lost her TARDIS,again, and was on a deserted, frozen planet because the CHEAP, nasty vortex manipulator she had broke half way through her journey.
Expecting a red hot planet, got stuck on a freezing cold one. Alone.
“Ko…” She practically whimpered. She had instantly recognised the voice, without even having to look towards the other Time Lord. The relief made her stumble to the ground, hands and legs somehow getting colder in the snow that was beneath her. Somewhere in the back of her mind she recognised that she was out of it. Very out of it. So much so that she almost used his name. What was that about?
The Master was next to her as she fell, reaching for her to keep her upright and as much out of the snow as he could manage. Her skin was so cold that for a bizarre moment, he was amazed that she could still move at all, but there was still a pulse below it, and that was good enough, even if it was slower than it should be, sluggish, as if the temperature had frozen it.
“You were always a little eccentric, but don’t you think this is a bit much, even for you, Doctor? Or... are you trying to die, is that it?”
