Mere Shyam Sundar Rakh lo Brij mein
Mann bhaje shyam naam,
Mann mein chhavi teri uttar gyi mere laal,
Tann mein teri taras goonj rahi,
Ab na Karwa yu intezaar,
Mere shyam bula le brij baar baar,
Tohre naam se hi ho rahi Mori naiya paar,
Na maange kuch aur bas traas hai teri,
Ye bhi door kardein shyam Sundar ki chhavi,
Brij ki bhoomi mein tu vaase,
Kand kand mein teri ki sugandh hove,
Haye mere brij ke laal,
Yu na karwayeo intezar,
Inn naino mein tere hi liye bas pyaar,
Inn naino ki yamuna mein doobkar meri lagade naiya paar,
Haye mere shyam, ab na huye intezar , rakh le mo ko brij mein apne paas
Translation:
My heart chants the name of Shyam,
Your image is etched in my heart, my dear,
Your longing is echoing in my body,
Now do not make me wait like this,
My Shyam, call me to Brij again and again,
My boat (of life) is crossing the ocean just by your name,
I ask for nothing else, only your presence is my desire,
This desire too gets fulfilled by your presence,
You reside in the land of Brij,
Every particle carries the fragrance of you,
Oh my dear of Brij,
Do not make me wait like this,
In these eyes there is only love for you,
By drowning in the Yamuna of these eyes, cross my boat (of life)
Oh my Shyam, i cannot wait anymore ,keep me near you in Brij.
Extra info no one asked for: my mom always uses her village dialect whenever talking to her family side (which lies inside agra) more or less it was the brij dialect so i picked on it , and yeah only know just a bit enough to understand what the Hindi translation of that word would be lol. Point aside, brij dialect is cute💕🪷
