Hulu's engrossing crime series stars Emmy Rossum and Lola Petticrew as a traumatized FBI agent and the femme fatale sex trafficking survivor turned serial killer she's hunting down. It's an entirely entertaining treatment of extremely tricky material that seems clearly inspired by how pervasive the Jeffrey Epstein scandal has become across culture. What starts as a crackling cat-and-mouse thriller about a young and attractive but hardened killer morphs more and more into an exploration of powerful men abusing women and children, where the victims are the actual villains. Meriwether expertly layers the series' strong feminist themes against misogynistic violence throughout each episode.

It doesnât officially release here until February 19, 2026. A thriller by Brian Kirk with a genuinely strong Emma Thompson.
Also, quick side note, itâs honestly refreshing to see someone her age on screen who clearly didnât get âfixed.â She looks like a real person. Love that.
Iâm keeping the plot vague on purpose. Emma basically carries the whole thing. The story itself is⊠kinda meh. I got bored in parts. Mightâve been my brain today too, not gonna lie.
The cast seemed genuinely into it.
Laurel Marsden felt pretty bland, but to be fair she barely had any screen time.
What worked really well was the setting. The cold felt real. Like I could feel it in my bones. And yeah, in Central Europe we donât really get those massive frozen-lake vibes. If our little city pond freezes over, thatâs already rare đ
The ending felt a bit forced and kind of sentimental. I think I can say that without spoiling anything. It just didnât fully land for me. Personal take.
