hello!, sorry about that, I’m gonna check my tumblr settings!

Frustration is what happened to me… It’s been more than 10 years of speaking the language and taking lessons of it and I still make the silliest mistakes. It’s just embarrassing to me.

Why aren't we talking about the time Kylo cut off Luke's hand??

Why is it always choking with antis? Can't they at least vary their death threats?

6) something you would go back and change in your writing that it’s too late/complicated to change now

Oh, this is a good question! Perhaps if I could start the Finnreylo Murder AU over I would plan it more. I just started writing and it’s been coming together through some magic I don’t understand, but if I’d had an outline and done a multi chapter fic instead of a series of one shots maybe it would be better? But, I’m really fond of it, as it is, and the format has really given me the flexibility I wanted when I started (which is why I did a series instead of a multi chapter - I wanted less stress, and I think it worked). 

8) favorite genre to write

Horror, I think. It’s just really fun to write. (second runner up is SMUT because of course it is)

11) what aspect of your writing do you think has most improved since you started writing?

Gosh, this is hard because I don’t actually think very much about my writing. Like, it’s not craft, it’s a thing I do because I have a bug in my head that encourages me to do it. That said I did recently reread a piece I wrote a couple of years ago and I ended up doing a little bit of smithing to fix perspective and clarity of dialogue, just to make it clear who was saying what, and why. I think that comes more naturally to me, now, or maybe I’m just more aware of it.

23) any obscure life experiences that you feel have helped your writing?

This isn’t really obscure, but I’m an academic in my day job and so I do a lot of critical thinking and making arguments. I do think that helps with my writing because, to some extent, writing a fic is like writing an argument to an audience. Who are these characters, what are they thinking, why do they do what they do? Why do we care? Planning a smut fic is actually really similar to planning an academic article about ... whatever. I think.
