A chance to talk about my oc? ABSOLUTELY! (all the links are for character overviews i’ve written)

Okay, Clara is a half-breed, daughter of Dwalin son of Fundin and Mirabelle Took. She was an accident. Not intended at all. A result of a summer fling. Dwalin had left back to the blue mountains long before Mirabelle figured out she was pregnant. Mirabelle was incredibly independent and stubborn about the whole thing, and refused to write to Dwalin and tell him. She died giving birth, so little Clara lived in Tuckborough until she was 33, because Belladonna (who had been helping out the most) had a family of her own now and knew Clara needed a more stable home. 

So imagine Dwalin’s shock when he gets a letter from his ex-lovers sister that he has had a child for over three decades and that the child now needed a home. 

Of course, Dwalin is honorable (he would’ve taken charge of Clara ages ago if he had known), and came to the Shire to take Clara back to the Blue Mountains.

Clara made a home there, with Fili and Kili as her best friends, and Dwalin (he ends up having the biggest soft spot for her, and she uses that to her advantage), Balin, and Dís all acting as her parents. Life was good.

Until she was kidnapped and sold into child labor in Bree.

There, she made unusual friends with a half-elf from Rhûn named Athenir, who was in the same predicament she was in. He outgrew her in maturity quickly, though not in age, so they have a weird sometimes-im-the-older-sibling-sometimes-youre-the-older-sibling relationship. They were eventually rescued by a ranger named Rantin, who took them to Fornost to train them. He did try bringing Clara back to the Blue Mountains, but she found her old village abandoned, with no sign of what happened. So she returned to Fornost and trained as a Ranger for many years, until she happened to be foraging for mushrooms outside of Bree at the same time Kili and Fili were hunting for the company...

I have so so so much written for Clara and my other ocs, i just need to organize it and post it lol. She goes through so much shit, the quest for erebor and bofta aren’t even close to the climax of her story, they’re only a plot point to get her reunited with her old friends and family. 

She’s been evolving over the years (originally, she was the daughter of Beorn and best friends with Legolas lol), but now i have her into a form that i feel best writing her in.

Ooooooooooo yes finally, i get to talk about Brenior/Lindir!!

Okay, When Brenior was first sent to Rivendell by Rantin, he did not feel at all comfortable. All the elves kept their distance (excepting Elrond), and he basically spent all his time alone in the library. But one day Lindir found him playing the harp in the most beautiful way, and their friendship began. 

They both grew quite fond of one another, though the poor babes are too shy/nervous to admit anything. This continues for years. Eventually, there is a battle Brenior goes off to fight in (It’s an important battle that i created, but i won’t give too much away), and Lindir is worried sick. Brenior returns, a bit beaten and bruised, but that doesn’t stop Lindir from throwing his arms around him and holding on as tight as possible. This is an incredibly intimate gesture for an elf, and Brenior knows that. He asks to court Lindir that night, and obviously the elf agreed. 

Overview: Rantin found Brenior after an attack on an orc pack. Rantin looked at the little Orc child and said “Fuck it, this is my kid now.”. Clara, Athenir, and Rantin worked together to raise Brenior, and helped the child through his extremely violent fits of rage. Brenior’s weapon of choice in an axe, but he also greatly enjoys the peasant staff if nothing else is available. He didn’t really get out much, because of him being an orc, but is always daydreaming about an idealised world he built up in his head. Hates other orcs. With a passion. Does his best to keep well-groomed and clean, and loves spending time with his friends. Buff af, and stands at 5 foot 8 inches.

Backstory: His pack was killed after making a raid on a small village, and Brenior was left behind. He was no more than a babe, and when the other Rangers were going to kill him, Rantin stepped in and raised him. Brenior spent his child and teenagehood with Athenir and Clara acting as his older siblings and role-models, and he was quite upset when they left for Rhûn. He got a lot more into reading and writing when they left, and would spend hours pouring over elvish poetry books. Rantin sent Brenior to Rivendell for a time, where he studied with Lindir and Lord Elrond, learning of the time of the Silmarils and of the Great Elvish scholars. He returned to Fornost in due time, to help fight the evils in the wilderness and expand the library there.

Personality: INFP-T. A true daydreamer. Also has some anger management issues. He would get super violent as a child, once even breaking Rantin’s arm and then biting him, but with time and patience and kindness, he learned how to manage it and stay calm. He’s very passionate about the things he loves and is interested in, and it hurts his heart to see the innocent suffer. He will never kill an infant, whether it be a soft little bunny or a warty goblin child. Hopeless Romantic.

Fun Facts:

-I didn’t have a name chosen for him at first, so my friend just started calling him Wasabi and the name stuck, so if I ever refer to him as Wasabi, you know why.

-Brenior means ‘Survivor’.

-One time, he found a baby bunny outside when he was 15, and tried nursing it back to health, but it died overnight. He was incredibly heartbroken and wrote his first poem that day.

-Has a crush on Lindir.

-Likes to wear soft clothing, especially silky soft fabrics.

-Plays four instruments, the harp, flute, chimes, and cello.

-Soft.

-But also incredibly vicious during battle.

-Found a litter of abandoned kittens when he was 17 and raised them all himself, and they all treat him like their mother.

Clara: She has a hairpiece Dwalin made for her during a Durin’s Day Feast one year, when She Fili and Kili were of the age to partake in the adult celebrations (bascially like moving up from the kids’ table at Christmas lol). She always kept it in her pocket, at first just because she thought it was neat, but after she was kidnapped, it became her only link to home. 

Athenir: He has his push-dagger (a Katara from the Mughal Empire), that he has had with him forever. He somehow never lost it, and will keep it with him until his death. It doesn’t really remind him of memories, and he doesn’t have a strong belief in luck, he’s just emotionally attached to it, and he can’t explain why.

Brenior: Brenior doesn’t really have an object. Perhaps his Flute, which is easy to carry during travels, but it doesn’t have any huge emotional value to him. His animals however, those are what he keeps close.

Adana: She has golden-hoop earrings, given to her by her mother. She has never not worn them, and hardly ever takes them off, for fear of loosing them. She’s very particular about who hangs onto them while she has them off. They remind her of her family and her homeland, so she keeps them safe always.

Nika: She has her axe, which has a mithril edge, and she never, EVER lets it out of her sight. The only person she has ever let hold it and clean it besides herself was Clara. Nika does consider her axe lucky, and always goes into battle with it. It only let her down once.
