I promised yesterday I’d share about my first good rodeo horse. His registered name was Alexanders Zero. I called him Zero. He came off the Waggoner ranch at Vernon, Texas and had been a ranch horse most of his life. He was 14 when I bought him. He was honest as the day was long. Pretty much nothing bothered him. But, he was not nice to other horses: he was going to be large and in charge and he’d beat them up mercilessly if they challenged his bossiness. But when tied at Roping or a rodeo, he was a perfect gentleman. He was my first registered quarter horse. He took me to pay window, regularly, in the goat tying and breakaway Roping. He lived to the ripe old age of 31. He taught me a lot. Probably more than I know and certainly more than I was grateful for at the time. He started me down a path and I’m forever grateful to him for that. #cowgirlquarterhorse #aqha #aqhaproud #breakawayroping #breakawayhorse #hecouldknockyourteethoutwithhisstop #rodeohorse #rodeocowgirl https://www.instagram.com/p/BpmgH20Am8U/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1te80g8t2emti
