I really appreciate how effectively the Break!! Kickstarter is flying in the face of conventional wisdom about small-press tabletop RPG crowdfunding. Everybody "knows" you need a complex reward structure and extravagant value-added stretch goals and fancy merchandisable add-ons that have nothing to do with the game's core experience in order to draw people in, and then there's Break!! with no stretch goals, no add ons, and a reward structure that's literally just "the PDF", "the printed book", and "the printed book with a different, Kickstarter-exclusive cover for the folks who are into the whole patronage thing", and it's doing bigger numbers than fucking Exalted.

OSR style game heavily influenced by NES games (especially JRPGs and Legend of Zelda) and 80's/90's anime and cartoons.
The Sun Machine was shattered at the end of the 3rd Aeon, plunging half the world in eternal night and bathing the other half in eternal day. Forgotten technology and magic litter the land, just waiting to be rediscovered.
Uses a roll under mechanic that uses the player's stats rather than requiring the GM to provide a target for most rolls with a roll-over-AC resolution for attacks. Each class (called Callings here) has a different emphasis, with some being less suited for combat. Heavy emphasis on rewarding creativity, as a lot of abilities are open to interpretation.

Since I'm running Break!! for my tabletop group again, I thought I'd try drawing up a stat sheet for a creature the group fought! They weren't supposed to fight it, but they did anyway.
